I have got an '83 200X that some of you might remember I had the motor rebuilt ported/polished the head, 26mm carb, added new web cam and bored 1.00mm over. Well I got it all back together and the thing ran a little rich but still it was a big improvement. Well since it was running rich I guess the oil was being washed off the cylinder walls and it cold seized. I had to get the cylinder bored over again and it is now at 1.50mm. Well I have gotten to it back together again and it runs but the problem is that it smokes a lot and leaks like this black greasy stuff out of the exhasut which it why it smokes. At frist I tought it was fuel but it doesnt smell like gas at all. So what could it be and why is it happeneing. I have put the stock carb back on at it does the same thing. I am starting to get frustrated with it. It starts just fine but after about 2 minutes of running the garage is full of this white smoke. what could be happening here. Anyone????

Sounds like you might have gotten a bad bore job and you are getting oil blow-by. It MIGHT be one other easier to fix problem: There is a small O-ring that fits into the head gasket where one of the cylinder to head locating dowels is. If you leave out this O-ring or damage it while putting it in you will have an internal oil leak which will cause similar problems to what you are experiencing. Hope this helps.

I know which O-ring you are talking about. I put the motor back together last rebulid and I remember it. The shop reassembled if for me this time. The best way to describe it is that it looks like the oily substance 2 stroks spit when the are running too rich. Looks like I need to take it back down there....... Will the motor use oil if this was the case??

Not 100% sure this is your problem but if you had it bored again and did not change to the appropriate size piston and rings size that would be the reason for the blow by. If it was mine with the kind of money it sounds like you have invested in this trike I would not ride it untill I knew for sure what the problem was. Hope this helps.
