hey guys i just got a 2001 ds 650.... i havent realy been able to do much with it yet.... i was wondering how its going to fair against the rest of the atvs out there right now like the predater and the raptor. also how much hp do they put out i have herd both 48hp and ive also herd they put out 52 hp... both of these sound good compared to the predaters 42 hp and the raptors 36 hp..... also i have noticed my ds is wider and longer then any other wheeler made.... and ive noticed it handles bad ass.

Hey go to atvconnection and go to the Bombardier section, those guys have awesome info, one guy even put true dual exhaust on his.

I think one guy put his on alcohol and got 120 horsepower or something out of his, it was way cool, I use to have the video downloaded of him running it on a dyno.

Oh yeah, also forgot to mention, go to www.rotax.net

It's got Ron Wood's parts on it. You could get a tach for it and a 7200 rpm rev limiter box for it too. I think its 7200 rpm

they're great and real fast on open ground and you should have no problem with a predator or raptor in that area. however, it is quite big and not well suited to wooded trails. not impossible, but not well siuted. i think the raptor and predator would take you in that situation. sweet sweet machine in my book!

They suppose to be one of the fastest quads out their right now. I've heard people out running the new 450's.

The DS is an awesome quad. I love it for the size and power its got. And yes, it will out run the new 450's in top speed

You gonna get a 17 teeth front sprocket for that DS?

I can't remember what size sprocket they came with stock, but I'm guessing it came with a 12,13 or 14. I could be wrong.

You could get a 17 tooth front sprocket and like a 32 tooth rear sprocket and have you some nice top end.

My mom has an 03 DS650 Baja X. Thing is friggen huge, I can't even ride it hardley, can't even get near the woods with it. It jumps really nice, has excellent suspension. They come stock with a 16 tooth front sprocket. My dad and I geared my moms down to a 12/45 and let me tell you, nothing can out accelerate it. The bad thing is now it tops out at about 45mph :P It'll pull a 5th gear wheelie with no problem though. I've raced against my friends Raptor (Procircuit T4 exhaust, suppose to have internal work done). I pass him like hes standing still until I get to 5th gear and hit the rev limiter (which is pretty quick). After that he starts pulling and passes. If the DS had the stock gearing there would be no way for him to catch it.

my friend has one, he's a big guy, fits him right. Its way too small for me, I feel much more at home on my 86r and trx, its fast, just too big for me. he's slow in the woods with it, because he has to to so carefull. I think its more than 50 inches, its wider than my 250r with offset wheels and +4 axle.
