Well I took my 350x out for a full day of riding yesterday, first all daylong ride I've really had with it and came home a little disappointed. I traded my tri-z for this 350 and have quite a bit of money into it and wish I had kept the Z and saved my money and time. Maybe I was expecting too much from the trike since I've heard nothing but great reviews on them. Don't get me wrong it has decent power, but the suspension is not as good as I was hoping and it sure doesn't handle like a Z. Looking back at the under seat gas tank on the Z and wonder why it wasn't used on other brands. It makes the trike much less top heavy. For those of you thinking of trading your 250 pingers for a 4-stroke think long and hard before making any decisions. I might be considering trades for the 350, e-mail me at xcr600sp96@hotmail.com, must be in good shape.

well, that sure is interesting.. I tried to tell you to buy an air cooled R of Mike LI, and then have both! Each is good for its own purpose, but that makes me feel a little better about putting all this money and time in my tri z.

I have 2 '86 atc250r's and 1 atc350x, to me they are two different bikes. and I wouldn't part with any of them. It kinda depends on what kind of mood i'm in to which one I ride. Keep the 350x and save your money for another Tri-z.

My suggestion is maybe to try a +4 dura blue or axle spacers for stability, and progressive fork springs. Also, if you first start out on a cr 500 and trade it for a xr 250 its going to seem like it doesn't have power, which is kinda what you did. You should keep riding it for a few months and just get used to it. Same thing applies if you ride a quad for like 5 months with out touching a trike, you hop back on a trike and it feels very tippy, seems like your riding on 2 wheels 80% of the time.

Man I knew youd miss that Z. Hopefully you find yourself a nice T3, R or another Z. I think you ought to try the KXT. I really enjoy mine. I only have my 350x for the woods.

That is intersting.... I think you should give it some time to develop a relationship with it.

Find the guy who bought your Z and see if he would trade. Who knows, might just work!

Riding different machines is like trying new food at your favorite resturaunt, where you have established "The Usual." I know it's hard to convert, but even I have switched from spaghetti and meatballs, to chicken or shrimp scampi... :o mmm. I know I only go a few times a year, but it seems like the usual is boring. The 350x may seem a lot different to you, it's like me riding a 400ex for a day, then trying to ride my trike, oops.. lol it wasn't the best thing. :D You should get used to it, but some never do. I'm going for a golf cart, or maybe a better trike... I want to step up a little bit... Everyone is getting better machines, lol. Just ride it some more, play around a bit, and get to test the machines limits. Doing that makes me sort of get used to the machine. You never know how far you can push it, until you push it too far. ;)

If you want a huge improvement in the front suspension put the dampening rods from an 83-84 250R in your 350x forks with 1" PVC spacers. There's a sticky about how to do it over on .org. I did it to my bike and it made a world of difference. You also get an extra 1" of travel to boot.
