ran great yesterday, took it to the races, rode it around to warm it up, getting ready to whoop some azz, clutch bolt comes up missing. Rode the back straight, ripping up some kind of quad POS, and the motor starts not revving, like it was, I dunno what. THen, it just DIED when I tried to pull into the pits. Well, you can imagine my HUMILIATION pushing the baddest trike ever built back to my truck (with my company name and adress on the door) SO I figured, well at least the lil holic can still run, but there was NOBODY in his class. Luckily, a customer of ours from Poughkeepsie was there and made his kid lose bad to the little holic and his Tri-Zinger. All the while that was going on, I got alot of "you get that old 3 wheeler running yet?? You should get a quad" etc. etc. I sure am devastated. It would have been a blast to blow the training wheels off some of those carts. The beuty of it is that the TIger could have raced 3 different classes, and I think done really well, IF IT RAN!!! %$%*(%%^&$&*%*%&$&*$&(%

I dont know what is wrong with it, but back to the corner of the garage it goes. It can sit there forever now. I dont know how I contained my rage at the time, I felt like running it over with my Dodge Hemi 3/4 ton truck. I was debating bringing my 250R, and I should have. How trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro embarassing.

Man, you better fix that damn thing and go redeem yourself!! You have to expect some bugs to work out. Just think about how those guys are gonna feel when you come back and fricken stomp their asses! I expect to hear about you destroying those trikes in a few weeks.........GET TO IT! :D

Sounds like something went wrong.... hmmm... The clutch bolt was missing? To me, it really sounds like it just got flooded, or lost it's fuel supply. Most likely a clogged jet. Or your CDI may have given up. :(

Did you check the vent tube on the top of the gas tank? I had that exact same thing happen to me at the races. It got plugged with mud and just bogged, then eventually died. Luckily, I figured it out right away.

Hope that helps.

It sounds like to me that you should invite some of your 3 wheeling buddies over to help you troubleshoot the thing. Like they used to say,"Walk it off" or in your case, ride it off.Try riding something around with "not that much power" on something for awhile and you might be more eager to fix it and ride it.

Too Bad Holic,I know that tiger woulda kicked some arse. I would put it back in the corner and get the other machines ready for TF04. Only 4 1/2 wks away. No use getting flustered over the tiger now; Just make sure its ready for next time.
I was debating on taking a trip up there w/ a tri-z or 2 but I'm too lazy to take them down off the shelf, where they've been since TF03. Knowing my luck we'd both be pushing our trikes back to the truck.
Good to hear that lil holic had fun.

Sorry to here that man. I guess u aint ready for war yet. Do you know anything about Rotax or Bing stufff on that Tiger? BTW If you need to buy parts don't forget to bring a couple of credit cards and your checkbook too!

Tiger used a Mikuni, not a Bing carb, at least mine does, that is also what it states in the advertisements for them. I think I have a simple fuel delivery problem. I use Tony Murphy Company for my Rotax parts, they are not too awful expensive, either.

Ive had those days. What really sucks is that once you cool off, and examine things, youll probably find its something really minor and stupid that you could have fixed at thew track!

'holic man ..... sometimes these things happen to a 20 year old machine, no matter how well taken care of it is. Let'em scoff - You will just have to show'em up next time, thats all. The fact that you brought it to race in the first place says alot about your character. You get kudo's in my book. I say Job well done for show.

I guess $230.00 for a piston aint too expensive for just a piston from Tony Murphy. That just must be plain cheap to some people.

Thanks for a Wiesco link. Maybe I can save me a $150 bucks on a piston. OH, BTW, Tony Murphy charges a meer $175. for a con rod. I guess that aint too bad either.

Who cares about the $$$, they are very rare and we should all ( the few of us out there that actually own one) be proud to own a pice of 3 wheeling history. I have 3 of them now and plan to pic up a couple more that I have located after I get 1 or 2 of these i've got now going. I'm not in a big hurry to get the other 2 yet because the guys out of town all the time (Truck Driver) and no one else knows about them :) and I need to keep a few dollars in my pocket to restore the trikes I have now :TrikesOwn
