ok i was wondering how do i adjust the rear shock? it was set by the owner before me for ice racing so it is set low just wanted it alittle higher,

ok question #2 i can not get the trike to ideal at all right now, i ran it today without the air filter on and when i rev it up i get a mist of something i'm thinking gas out of the carb i know it's not cause the air filter is off cause it did it when i had it on, i only ran it up and down my street about 2 or 3 times but when i'm sitting there i have to make it ideal manualy while i try to adjust it but nothing runs perfect but as soon as i come to a stop or if i was just coasting it will die i can kick it right over everytime first kick but just wont stay running so anyone know what it is and i never have any gas coming from the over flow either.... so any help would be cool thanks

Ihope you figure this one out. all the stuff that you just described is exactly what my tecate has been doing to me for months. I have screwed with the jetting so much just to try to get it to idle its making my head spin. this last week I was to the point where I adjusted my throttle cable just enough to hold the slide open so that it wouldnt die when I came to a stop or let off the gas. I also have the carb mist thing happening too, which I think may be a reed problem but am not sure because my reeds do not appear to be warped. I kind of gave up on it since it runs like a raped ape the rest of the time. hopefully one of these oldtimers can throw some insight our way. good luck---Joe

well yes, i aswell hope that someone can come and tell us what it is, like yours, mine runs perfect other then the dieing on me everytime i let off the throttle for to long...
only other thing i can think of is getting a carb rebuild kit i need one for my 83R aswell that one runs perfect for a couple hours but then it starts flooding on me gas pooring out all over from the over flow cleaned it like 5 times and same thing everytime, yesterday i road the 83 and when i first pushed it out of the garage and turned the gas on it started dumping ags out of the over flow right away as soon as it started it stopped but when i shut it off and leave the gas on it will drain the tank if i let it, so i think i'm going to try the carb rebuild path good luck with yours

If it's coming out the carb this leaves you with two options. #1: Broke reeds allowing pressure to be forced back out. #2: Float level too high pushing too much fuel through and then coming back out. I think I'm having a problem with #2 right now myself on the Tri-Z.
