I want to know if a blaster cylinder would bolt (or even come close to it) on a yt175 bottom end. I read someone saying something about this before. Anyone happen to have a yt175 and contact to a blaster cylinder? ... I want to know it would be like a big bore kit :Bounce

Plus if it did work you could possibly get a 240 kit to work and that thing would then MOVE :D

I currently have the ability to check on this. I am in the proccess of getting some 175 parts ready for Ebay and I also have a Blaster that has already got the top end removed. It should only take about 5-10 minutes to check it out.

Ok, Here is what i seen this morning. The Blaster cylinder has the same mounting pattern as the 175. How ever the blaster uses smaller mounting studs ( on the bottom end ). So I couldn't see if it would fit onto the bottom end correctly without hitting anything.
I also found out the 175 base gasket fits the blaster cylinder near perfectly.

Doing a quick check I found out the rod on the 175 has a 20mm opening for the needle bearing. The Blaster rod measures 21mm. Unless someone has a way to get around this the Piston won't inner change.

I also done some research and found out that the rods are a different stroke :(
But the bores are the same .. so I guess if could use a blaster cylinder with a tri-moto piston ... and wouldn't that be an improvement ?/ cause of better porting? only thing would be is if the cylinders are different lengths. which they probably are and with a 175 piston that would be super low compression.

What do you think ?

Does anyone think its possible to swap a blaster crank into a YT175, or maybe more realisitcally puting a blaster rod on aYT175 crank. The engines seem incredibly simular. I'm hopping to buy a blown blaster motor with in the week and I have YT175 engien sitting on my bench. Hopefully I'll do some disasemmbly and find out. I'll post more later.

Howdy, I got ahold of a blaster piston awhile ago, and I believe it will interchange... the wrist pin that goes threw the piston is the same size. I believe it must be the size of the needle bearing that makes the difference, is that possible?...
The only difference's in the pistons is that the skirt on the blaster is about 1mm longer. Other than that and the "porting" (I dont know if that is the correct name) on the piston skirt is different.

The blaster rod is 5mm longer..... (well the stroke is..) .. does anyone have any idea's to get around that and be able to bolt up the blaster cylinder/head... Would Just plaining the head cure the problem? .. the thing would be just to get the compression back up right ? ..

Yeah Can you imagine a tri-moto 240 lol .. no rear suspension .. lol.. I have to do something about that.... I think this is gonna be my project trike that takes 4 years to build lol.. Money is the biggest thing that will slow me down.

The thing I like about this is youre using the parts of the original motor, like the old days, sort of like searching and machining old Chevy heads instead of bolting on darts or Edelbrocks. It could be a cool drag bike even with no suspension, the thing is that it will be a major sleeper, one thing is for sure it will be an absolute wheelie monster.
