I have a guy trying to sell me this 85 t-3. He had it running then it lost spark. Has new stator and flywheel from Ricky Stator. He wants 450. Plus it is a 200 mile drive one way to go get it. What do you guys think?

It sure looks nice in the picture. The front fender has been trimmed off and it's got the low-pro rear. The tank is nice and green, I wonder if it's been painted?

If you don't mind the drive, go for it!

I sold one on ebay last year that brought me $500. The engine on mine had the top end in pieces.......and was missing the silencer and most of the top end hardware. If that one runs you need to buy it!!!

Well I picked up the t-3 yesterday. Here is the bad, swingarm bearings are shot, no spark, missing kill switch, brakes do not work. The good, all the parts seem to be there, extra carb, rad, rad guard, and shifter, new stator and flywheel, all the tires hold air, seat has been recovered. The iffy stuff, the whole bike has been painted(pretty fair job tho), only has about 140 lbs compression. Got it for $400 and a 430 mile drive. Has a million sticker on it too, lol. Will let you guys know what I find out about the no spark issue. The 86 electrical stuff (cid, coil, ect.) will work on the 85 right?

Update, found the prob. The flywheel key was sheared. Where can I get one?

whiteman, just take whats left of the key to a lawnmower shop and have them match it up, lawnmowers have tons of keys on them, and lawnmower shops are loaded with them, you should find what you need, if not, then a dealer.

Home Depot or Lowes sells pre cut key stock. Walmart may even have it.

Put a key in and fired it up. Flywheel bolt works loose tho. This makes it shear the keys. Ran good. Have a leaking rad hose. Other than that will find a better fiting key and try 'er again.

Make sure you put loc-tite blue on the flywheel bolts.
