350x carb problem

Went riding yesterday, and after going through a 3ft deep mud and water hole, my trike ran like a bag of crap, pulled the carb off after milking the trike to a friends house, pulled the carb off and the slide was stuck wide open, anyone ever have this happen, and can you still get the gasket on top of the carb, since i think that is how the water and mud got into the carb thanks andrew

ps, a super trap exhaust sounds wicked under water

you should grease the cap threds that will seal em.if you have a ajuster ware the cable goes in or little bras thing the cable seats in on the cap you con put haet shrink tubing over that.
