View Full Version : how to remove 250r motor

hell i am new to the 3 wheeler world and i just purchased 2 honda 250rs
an 81 and 83 i broke the fram on the 81 but the motor runs great and i would like to put it on the 83 but i can not remove it i have all the motor bolts out but the motor is to large to come out of the frame do i need to pull the rear end off or mabye the top end of the motor off any info would save me lots of time thank you

welcome aboard. the 83 r i am very sure you hafta pull the swing arm bolt to remove the motor. the 84 i had needed the swing arm bolt removed to pull the motor ,,, i never had a 81 - 82 r so i won't comment on those trikes.

You got 2 motor mount bolts and then you have the swing arm bolt that goes thru the frame. Remove them all and then play around with it til it comes out. Use a pry bar around the swinger area to help. Oh and I have a few 82r parts let if you need anything.

Do you happen to have a front disc caliper for the 81-82 250r?


And I had to pull the swingarm bolt to get my spare motor out myself.

Actually I just sold that last week. I have a frame with swinger, triple tree with throttle and handle bars and some nice foot pegs. I also have another 83 R frame that needs painting.
