Hi guys , Im new to the board and new to 3 wheelers so forgive me if i seem stupid... I just purchased a cherry honda 110 and i have a question, My Honda will not idle, it will start on the first pull everytime and run fine as long as i keep my hand on the throttle but as soon as i let off it stalls , I was told that its a safety feature in the event the rider falls off the bike will die, i was also told that there is something wrong ,but there is no throttle adjustment and the bike purrs so nice i really hate to mess with the carb settings. My kids ride it mostly so i guess i dont mind it but im use to getting off and not worring about it stalling ....

Have you tried your idle screw???its on the right side of the carb (when sitting on it) and its the screw with the spring behind it. Turn it clockwise to increase idle speed.

I've had this problem with mine too. I don't know the answer because mine still does it. I've "rebuilt" the carb and everything leading to it. All seems fine--you might want to make sure your tank can breathe. Make sure the vent on the cap is not clogged. I've checked everything on mine and can't figure it out. Mine purrs too--new airfilter and I think my carb settings are fine (plug says so) and it ALWAYS starts first pull. I've never had a problem with mine EVER. You'll love that thing.

You my friend are the victim of a very common problem with the 90/110/125's horizontal motors .... the carbs are JUNK!!!!. Try taking it apart and cleaning the heck out of it, otherwise .... get a new one.

True.............except the small displacement horizantal engine's carbs are less than reliable.

Thanks for the advice, Didn't have any luck though, turned the screw all the way in and it idled very fast but when i turn it back it stalls, So i either have a very fast idle or none at all. Im going to tear into it this weekend and see if a good cleaning will help. Another quick question, How many turns on the air/fuel mixture screw should i have ?

How much throttle are you giving it when you put it into gear? My 110 would stall if I didn't give it enough gas.

hey 200xalltheway, its true, 110s have carb problems. and the horizontal engines run better when im doing wheelies haha. my 110 idles just fine in the summer, rarely in the winter. just give it a good amount of idle juice and it should stay running, also remember to take the choke off.

A carb doesn't "go bad." There are very few moving parts in a carb and those are not stressed. A carb can become dirty over time or a needle valve can wear out or a float can be damaged or jets can be clogged. All are relatively cheap fixes when you consider the price of a new carb. Don't just throw a carb out for a new one. Clean it and replace the worn/gummed up parts. A carb kit for the 110 is about $15--a NEW carb--$100-$200? I'm guessing
