Shop called to tell me my cylinder will be .001 over spec if he hones it. will I get standard rings to seal at this oversize? Should I have him bore it out?

personally i'd have it bored but you need to have the piston and rings before they can bore it.

Is that .001 over spec for a forged piston or for a cast piston? If thats a factory spec for a cast (OEM) piston and you use a forged piston such as Wiseco, youll most likely still be within specs, provided the bore is fairly square and free of surface defects.

To save the guy time I gave him the specs from clymer. So my standard stock piston won't do. I guess the question now is what compression ratio to go with on a forged piston. 10.25 wiseco piston on ebay looks good, any thoughts on this ratio?
