I never used to like those 225 tri-motos but that picture has changed my mind for some reason. They do look kinda cool. How do they ride compared to a 250es? Power and suspension diffrences?

Thanks,

Matt

Here are both of my 1984 200es's. I love them but they just aren't getting the use they deserve with 4 air-cooled r's around. But tonight we had a fire in the backyard and ran out of wood, so the old big reds came to action for a quick trip to get more wood. Always trusty!!

And no my son (who was three in that picture) isn't riding himself. I stepped off to snap the picture.

Hey Matt & John Though I would show you my Toys. The 87 Big Red is in the process of being restored. They 85 SX is already there for the most part. Different tires on it now. And the 85 70 ATC my daughter is on is cherry. Has about 20 hrs on it Tops. Still has the nobbies on the tires.

Nice trikes Clay! Seems like you put alot of effort into them. Why does that bigred look so high in the rear end, the fender is way off the tire?

The tire is way away from the rear fender due to the swingarm being bent. On the other side its closer to the fender than normal. If you look at the trike from the rear it leans to the left. Thats my next project. Got the parts just waiting to do it. Thanks for the compliments. I workerd real hard on the SX for many months. Then my wife rolled it. Luckily it only bent the handlebars. Got that take care of and it looks good now. I love my SX. I thought I wouldnt like the Big Red as much due to its bulkyness, but thats not the case. I love they Big Red. Im a big guy and it just feels better. I do eventually wont to get a 350X. Im a speed freak, and love to get torqued back in the seat. But for now I love the Big Red. Im not going to sell it any time soon, but I wonder what my SX would bring in its current condition. What do yo guys think.

Hey thanks Matt. In the first picture that 200es hit a good sized tree at the bottom of a muddy hill. Took the front rack and fender with it. That was the last owners explanation. After that he desided new tires were in order for that much needed traction! You can also see where there is no paint on the fork after it was straightend. Seems to have been well done as it is back to the original location and has taken my abuse so far with no problems.

Hey trail boss thanks for compliments. The rear tires are called ( Fast Trekker ) and they are 18x11x8. I have seen them on ebay going for 70 bucks or so plus shipping. They grab really good. Slows the bike down just a bit, but gives it more torque. Makes it look real sporty as you can see.

no problem clay you deserve comps for an excellant resto!!! i really like how you used blue fork covers. is that a 200x front end?

ClayW

No thats the stock SX front forks and Tripple Tree. The slightly smaller front tire makes it look different. The front tire is a Dunlop 20x9x8. Im selling it on ebay right now Cheap. My front fork tubes are bent a bit on this thing like most. Still drives straight thought. Im in the process of tracking down a good set.

ClayW where did you buy your front tire? Did it fit the stock front rim. It looks awesome. You have a really sporty SX.

The 225 and the 250es both have front and rear suspension. I just wanted to know which was nicer to ride. The 250es gets my vote as the best looking though. More tank looking!

It was on my bike when I bought it. Im selling that front tire on EBAY right now. I have a low reserve on it. It still has the nobbies on it. Yeah it fit right on the stock rims with no proble.

Here are a couple of my 250sx's As utility trikes they are doing what they do best, hauling the carts. I use my three sx's as baby tractors working around my property. I had both trikes and carts out yesterday while I was planting some bushes. Then I can take one for a pleasure ride. The best of both worlds.
