I just got this 70 Saturday. Need some help with it. Has anyone seen chain rollers like this before? The one is still there, but it appears that the lower one is gone. I'd like to find a replacement. Also, any idea what forks they are? The guy I got it from said as far as he could tell they are 185s forks? What are the things a few inches below the dust seals? They appear to be threaded holes of some sort, is this where a fender would attach or a front rack (if they are 185s forks). I think one of the forks is on backwards because the threaded holes are pointing the same way. What is the phillips screw for towards the bottom of the fork? What year 70's uses 3 lug hubs, and had phillips screws for the case bolts? It is a 3 speed.

He said the carb, cyclinder, head, piston was all brand new. I belive him on the carb because the screws are still gold. It sure doesn't want to idle though. It starts first pull, but then after warm somtimes it will idle really high, and other times it will die. The rear suspension actually is very soft, and functions better than I thought it would. With the open air filter you can really hear the air being sucked into the carb.

the forks usually used in a suspension 70 are from an xr motorcycle. all honda 70's are 3 lug. 3 speed is 81 or older. wanna sell it?

Those forks are aftermarket. I have a set very similar to them. The difference is they were off a bigger machine. If you look at the fork bottoms you will see a Suzuki mark on them. This is the "S" that they use for their parts. ;)
The chain tensioner is a good one. The metal is chrome plated with what seems to be roller skating wheels on it. I know this because like the forks I have one of these also. I have never even thought about selling it. I am saving it for the one machine I am getting started on ( real soon, I hope ). If your missing a wheel you might want to go garage sale shopping for a pair of old roller skates. You could also go to a local roller rink and get one. I'm 80-90% sure they will work or can be slightly modified to work. And it would be easier to find in the future. ;)

I run a skateboard wheel on my chopper as a chain tensioner and as long as you have a good, high rpm pair of bearings, they last for years. Any urethane wheel will work perfectly. Make sure you don't use a cheap plastic one....I tried one of those and when the bearings heated up on a long ride, the inner wheel melted - not good.
The great thing about skateboard wheels is the color range...pick one out to suit the trike.

That isn't a 70 frame is it? I would love to build something like that. At least have one with front forks. I already have a 70 and it is in need of some work so I may just have to do something crazy with it. Can you possibly take a few pictures with the rear plastic off from above it? You have a reall y sweet custom 70 man.

Its pretty fast, and if I counted right, its got a 16 tooth front sprocket.
I can get pictures of the frame sometime, not sure when. Yes I think the whole frame is aftermarket, most of it is round tubing.
Still not sure what the forks are from, I have a old cm250 honda motorcycle and it has those similar 2 threaded tabs on the forks, and that is where the front fender mounts, so possibly might be a smaller honda motorcycle.
Also when I give it more than 3/4 throttle it sputters, when it starts sputtering if I flip the choke all the way on it will recover and rev up just fine. But the choke needs to come off for it to idle. Any idea's? The carb is brand new, not sure of the jets in it, clamp on air filter, and cobra pipe.

those frames are aftermarket, the front forks are usually honda xr forks from a dirt bike, the triple clamps are aftermarket as well. there used to be a couple companies that made suspension kits for 70's for kids that raced em. the sweet motor swap to do on a 70 is to put a 125m engine in it. it bolts up with minor modifications. im currently building a 120cc stroker motor for my 70. cant find a suspension frame anywhere so im just gonna have to fab my own frame and swing arm.

After seeing many a set of forks, I'm betting that you have two right side fork legs, one being used as a lefty. That's what I can tell from this angle anyway.... Anyone looked up the Accessory shop yet?

Just so everyone knows, I googled the company, and found an accssories plus, inc. in nearby San Marcos (San Diego County) and called them, the guy was all weird and freaked out when I asked him about his business, but he did not appear to have any information on the frame... all other searches didn't really turn anything up....

Here is the company info, it is listed under tubing benders and fabricators... Feel free to contact the dude and drive him nuts... I don't know if someone previously owned the business or what...

I picked up an accessories plus 70 suspension frame bike and it is a blast. It is almost as cool as my PK framed 70. My triple tree tops have Accessories Plus etched into them. The frame is steel making it very easy to work on. The PK frame is Chromemoly and it would be a little more difficult to fix. Now all I need is to get 1 or 2 of the modified 200x engines to put in them. I don't know if Greenhuman sells them or not, but, it would be way cool.

I got the chain rolller figured out, I ended up ordering some from Dennis Kirk, I think most if not all rollers must take the same sized bolt, it just the thickness and width of the roller that is different. It still misses after cleaning the carb, and fuel screen, must need a bigger main jet with the clamp on filter and pipe.

I have one of those exact rollers if the one you ordered don't work. I used part of one of those chain tensioners on FrankenX but didn't use the other roller. If it don't work for you, give me your address and I'll send it to you.

catfish: the rollers I bought are installed and seem to work fine, if I had to reorder them I'd have probably gone for the thickest and widest ones available. The tensioner on this is pretty chinsey anyway.

This is my friend Dallas' 70 with the same Acc. plus suspension frame. It has a 110 stroker motor. Another friend has the same frame with a 125M.

Did you click on the ebay link above? It has a suspension 70 frame for sale, actually a whole trike and a grand ain't bad. You're not going to pick up a frame for that unless you get one that is really busted up. They do fall under the rare category. I know of more Tigers than suspension 70 frames.
