When I'm riding with the wind, I can smoke my friends yamahauler 200 with my Big Red 200, then against the wind I'm hopeless. In it just sputters and doesn't want to rev up at all. I've cleaned the carb twice and still nothing. I've heard that at a certain point, these old trikes just need a new carb, no amount of cleaning will help because they are so old and crap caked on them. Could this be it, or is it something else. Maybe since I don't have a front fender too much air is around the carb and it goes thrue the breather hose, does that make any sense? Thanx

I dunno how long youve been riding of if this is your first trike or mabe your a little on the heavy side. Depending on your size you may need to rev it out before you shift into a higher gear but i doubt thats it. My blaster would need to be reved out in 5th before i could shift into 6tt and hardly ever could get it to top out in 6th. Then i got the cylinder board and put a wiseco pro lite piston and rings and it pulls strong again. I think its time for you to get a rebuild. The spark plug im sure would be funny looking if the carb was going out..either white from being lean or wet black from being really rich..good luck.

Sweet. I'd like to get a 350X but around here they are super rare. My friend bought one a couple of months ago ($2700 CDN) and it wasn't even that nice.
So I will have to stick with my 250es, and work on getting my 250sx up and running again, which I should have going SOON thanks to the help from jeswinehart.
