Today i had to go to a funeral for one of my friends. He was 19 from International Falls. He was rideign with some friends and he rode a wheelie on his 400EX and ran into a 350X. He had major brain swelling so bad they had to take part of his skull off he was alive for 5 more days and before the 5th day they started to take him off the drug induced acoma and he moved so they put him back on but that night he had a real rough night i guess and at around 12 the next day he was pronounced dead at the Duluth hospital. He was not wearing a helmet!! He was one of the nicest people to know and be friends with and now he is gone because he didnt wear his helmet. This should be a lesson to all of us because it happened almost in his yard.

Sorry to hear the bad news. It took one o our group to crash hard, land on his head and have a stay at the hospital before we realized how sudden these things happen. We're not as bulletproof as we all think. Now everyone wears a bucket...and since then 2 guys have had their melons saved because of them....

Let this be a lesson to all of us. Everyone needs to wear a helmet. It has saved my life many times.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The helmet is the most important piece of gear everyone should always have and use.
I have just gotten back into the sport after an acident 12 years ago that I broke my nose in 3 places and cracked my eye socket in. I sold all my toys at that point.
Now I even wear my helmet when I ride my Pilot. Plenty of people give me trouble but I have seen nightmares from Pilot and ody riders without helmets.
Again sorry for your loss

Im not trying to b*tch at people for not wearing helmits but it really makes me angry that after accidents like this people still saying..i dunno i dont wear a helmit blah blah blah i never have so i dont want to start because nothing bad has happend yet..i have rights and i choose not to..etc etc. You should start wearing one so you wont put anyone through the pain that 84honda 200X is going through because the loss of his freind...come on people if you can afford trikes quads and dirt bikes im next to positive you can pick up a helmit from a dealership or used in a local paper or even borrow 1 from a freind if they have extras.
If your worried about your freinds makeing fun of you for wearing a helmit then you need new freinds...what kinda friend would make fun of you for trying to protect yourself...would those kinda freinds make fun of you for using a condom...because they dont seem to think protection is cool.
I hear people say they can pick n choose to wear 1 or not because thats their rights, but when they fall off n get killed they arnt here to go through the pain and suffering that the person who got killeds family is going through and blameing themself over and over saying the famous last words "if only i made him wear a helmit".
Lifes a gift, no matter how short or long it is so....out of all the ways to die..why die a death that could have been prevented.
This is just my honest opinion people i dont want any trouble..i just wanted to express myself. I can take some constructive critisim and would like to hear how people feel about this but please dont start an arguement.
84honda 200X i hope things work out for ya man.
see ya later people

Timex69 has a point i didnt wear my helmet around my house because i figuared if i got hurt i was close to home and my mom could call well so was my friend and he died and was only a few hundred yards away from his house. Ever since then me and most of my other friends have worn helmets in our yard. I had friends that i never thought i would see cry and they cried at that funeral.

Sorry to hear about this second loss this week. I heard from my co-workers that some guy was riding last sunday (probably too fast) and apparently tried to cross a busy road. seeing he would not make it, he tried to stop only to be flipped off the bike right in front of that car he was trying to beat. No helmet either.
