guys, this is for the tri-z

I got my top end stuff back today and was reading the instructions. in the instructions it says to drill two holes on the piston for lubercation. I have rebuilt 2 different motors. one was a lt250 and a yz125 and never did this trailprotrailpro.

Do I need to drill these lubercation holes?

If I do does anyone have any tips.

thanks

yeah,

over on 3wheeler.org some guys do this...but none with tri-z's

I think on the instructions it sates that some modle require this.....darn generic instructions.

I am gonna have to call wesico to find an answer.

I have a few books I'll look in. It maybe some old school racers secret. As far as modern two stroke go. I wouldn't go drilling holes places. If there were supposed to be holes there, Wiesco would mill holes there.

you only drill the 2 holes if there is a exhaust bridge. if you look into the exhaust on the jug your ehaust will be divided by a thin peice of metal. in order to drill correctly you must asemble the top end. then bring piston to top dead center. then with a pencil run down both sides of the bridge. disassemble your top end and with the drill bit it says to use drill 2 holes inbetween the 2 lines following the mesurements that the instructions states. these holes are for lubrication. if you do not do this it could cause you fresh top end to melt down.

thanks everyone for your input on this question.

I went home and found the old piston an it did not have these holes drilled in it. so I will not drill them.
