Whats the best way to clean out a gas tank? Its not rusty as in is about to fall apart, just some in the corners, for the most part its clean. My buddy let his bike sit for some time and drained the gas and noticed some rust in the botttom.
I've heard of radiator shops boiling them out....does that work?
Also hear of the acid you clean concrete/bricks with...cant think of the name right now though.

How do you guys do it?

Thanks!

okay, I do have some questions though. From my search it looks like a good/inexpensive/effective way is muratic (sp?) acid and bb's.

My question is do you just fill it up part way? All the way?

Will it eat the pain on the outside of the tank?

will it destroy and rubber or anything in the petcock?

there isnt ALOT of rust in there, just in the corners mostly. I just wanna make sure it doesnt suck anything up into the carb.

Use Nuts or Bolts....or something with a sharp edge that will actually scrape the rust off. BB's will most likely just roll over most of the rust...
