who makes a skinny 22-11-8? I need a replacement for my front tire on my 250sx. I have heard stories about some replacements rubbing the forks.

What is the most narrow tire that can go on the stock front rim?

I was also wondering which brands/styles are fatter. I have 22x11x8 on my 250R and 110 and they are skinny compared to the goodyears that are on my friends little brothers 185. They are also 22x11x8, but ALOT fatter!

I had a 21x9x8 on mine. However it made the front end sit a bit low. I had to change it out. I just bought a tire from www.hyperparts.com that is narrower than most 22x11x8's and it designated as a front tire. It comes close but does not rub. The strikers I have on the rear would not fit. I tried just for kicks. The smaller tire made my trike sit about 2 inches lower in the front. I didnt mind the look as much as the feeling of leaning foward on the bike.

22x11x8 Turf Tamers (and some other types) WILL rub the forks and put holes in them that will let the oil leak out.

Try to find a 9 or 10 inch wide tire for it. Or you could use an X or R front end on it and use the skinnier 7-8 inch tire on it.

ClayW,

Where did you get the 21x9x8 and what was the make/model? It would probably work for me because I have 20's on the rear.

Hey edge check this link out. This is the tire I bought last month for my SX. Fits just fine. Even with my slightly bent fork tubes. If the tire ever rubs loosen the tripple tree clamps and put a big wrench on the refil nut on the top end of the fork tubes and turn it like you are tightening it it will rotate the tube around and you can see when you have the most clearance. Thats what I had to do. My SX handles sooo much better with this tire. Anyway here is the link.

THis isn't an answer to your question but I have a question regarding
22-11-8 tires. Thes are the size that are on the rear of my atc 90 and what would the ride be like if I put 20-11-8's on it? Would it be to bumpy? I am goingto order some carlisle tur tamers for it and I would like to know if those tires would make it ride funky. thanks

That's what I'm doing with my 250sx. I suspect the ride might be a little stiffer (maybe not) but the noticable difference is that it will be quicker with less top end.
