A friend of mine has talked about another of our friends 3 wheelers that are in his shed. I recently bent my 250R front rim and we went to his shed because he said he may have some spares. Well he opened the shed and there is his old 200X race bike, and there was the infamous 200R that I had heard him talk of. Not a sleeved down version, but it has a smaller crank and the short cylinder. That is not all.. laying on the ground upside down going to hell is a 250R flattrack tank off of the bike. This baby is the real deal. There must be 8 sets of Ohtsu H-Track tires and Hoosiers laying around. Rear shocks, axles ,headlights, number plates, Paul turner pipes, ALL GOING TO HELL...ROTTING AWAY. I was so excited I almost pissed myself, but did not want to show my excitement. In the other shed sits a TRX 250R that was raced in nationals by somebody I am sure you have all heard of. But I'm not telling.....yet. I said I want thje 200R to restore but he said he does not want to sell anything. But it is all rotting away. I told him he can still own the 200R but just for the sake of the history of it to please let me give it some well deserved TLC. He does not give a crap about the bikes, will never ride them again,or open the shed in the next several years I know. But he is the kind of person who figures to just let them rot away instead of selling them. BUT and a vary big BUT ...I now have something he wants and needs. So I think it may be time to wheel and deal. I want that bike and I will have it somehow........Oh yea, This kid has been a friend of mine forever, our dads are friends, but we have never talked trikes. I was telling him about how passionate I am about Trikes and about my Tiger. I mentioned my friend that raced the Cagiva WMX 200 and he said " Yea I had one too, It was good for nothing but running wide open flattrack racing"" It was a ill handling piece of crap. He said he got rid of it for the 200R. This guy is killing me...........

That's a really cool opportunity. Play a little hard ball with him. You've got to get that 200R. Keep us posted and good luck!

ahh mike, the selvy's (spelling?) version? man those engines had to be all custom cut and trimmed to size and welded back together, i always thought they were so much more interesting then just the sleeved down thing, i read the mag article about selvy's 200r engine, and it showed the pics of him trimming the cylinder and all that good stuff, might just be another privateers (spelling?) version of it, but still very cool., just keep at him about it, he'll give in eventually.

Mike, Nice find... This guy that raced the fourtrax initials arent RG are they?
Hey that 200R is probably one of the proper ones from the era that were not only sleeved down but de-stroked as well. That was the hot ticket but pretty rare as the cost was triple compared to just sleeveing down to 200cc. Too bad all of that stuff is just rotting away. The tires are probably dry rotted from sitting. Oh well. Let us know how it goes.
Curtis.

Sweet 200,that brings back some memories.
Curtis,
Rodney ran at the nationals at Gatorback this year, he finished 2nd overall in the 30+ class. He ran the second round of the Florida Trail Riders series in Sept. at Bartow too. He finished 1st overall. Sportin' #7, he smoked the field (13 riders) in both moto's. Still silky smooth as ever, just not in "Pro" condition. You know, not quite in shape enough for 20+ minute moto's. Nice to see though.

The seat covers were not avaliable from Honda. When you were a good racer with a Selvy 200 motor they were given out by honda as promotion type stuff. He said this seat was given to him by a guy from Honda. They were pushing the liquid cooled 200cc. Both Tiger and Cagiva had 200cc racers.

I was wondering the same... If I found a 200R I would have it posted up on here as soon as I got it home
How could someone "sit on" that?
Maybe it's photoshopped!

If you can see I posted this on June 10 of 2004. The info was all there. It was brought back up by RM250RF900R. That is why he said he knows this post is ancient. Go back up in the post and see the newer picture. I have it and there is no need to ride it.

The Man who had the 200R......
My Brother and I did an interview with him while we were doing work for DW.
(The guy beside him in the pic, Randy Howard, was a great friend....sadly he is no longer with us)
