Howdy partners!
Before the DIEHARD trikers have a fit.... I live in Japan and I own an '85 200X Trike plus an RMX250 (race version) dirtbike. The X rides excellent and I will do a complete restore on it after I put my '96 RMX250 back together next week. The shaddy Yahoo Auction Japan seller didn't tell me about the bad shifter mechanism but that doesn't matter since the repair only cost me the price of a gasket kit and 105yen (less than $1) A cheap ATC250r that has multiple problems will rob $2k from your wallet over here and mint STOCK rides cost $4k+. I would have bought a complete 250R Trike or Quad from the US but the $700+ shipping cost and and weeks of waiting are not too appetizing. I can build a 250R Trike or Quad off of Ebay for $1000~$1500 and I already have a donor '92 CRM motor that runs really strong. Too bad none of the ATC250r sellers would ship me a frame  .
I just won a buildable '88 TRX250r frmae so I need to get some questions answered before I go crazy on Ebay. Do all TRX450 suspension parts fit on the 250R? I'm guessing this setup will work as long as there are no fitment issues with the A-Arms.
Some 400EX parts also caught my eye but I am watching the following parts:
450R Front and rear shocks (will fit for sure)
450R A-Arm set (will only buy if the price stays under $200)
450R front spindle set (new)
450R front caliper set (new)
450R tie rods (new)
450R Lonestar front hubs (like new)
450R swingarm (NOT Ebay...found at a shop in Alabama for $75)
400EX steering stem
400EX front hubs if the lonestar hubs get too expensive
400EX spindle set (just in case I do not win the 450R's)
I will most likely get an X-33 axle and use the 250r rear brake setup. Thanks in advance for any help that you may provide.
