What trike to buy????

Hey guys, I am not real familiar with atc's.....I will be looking around the next couple of weeks for some to buy....I have read a couple of threads, and I am not real sure on the difference between the different bikes.....I have heard 200 r-x-s...What is the difference? Also what year 250r is the most desirable...I understand the later models are desireable, but why? What do I look for If there is no ID tag on it....kevin

Ok the 200X is a sport 200CC bike, the 200R is a rare raceing bike that is very very hard to find, and the 200S is a farm like bike that is not a raceing bike. And i think the most desireable 250R is the 87 but they are hard to find but one to get would be the 85-86 bikes with the liquid cooled engines.

i would say it depends on your experience , weight and where you do most of your riding..i.e., trail, sand, mud...etc.


if your in it for collecting....i would say that 3wheelers are like my O.J.Simpson's rookie card..both of them have a black mark in history which unfortunately hurts the resale value at this time....

I wasn't sure on the designations of the 200......I live in a farming area so the big reds and the S's are probably plentiful....I just kinda wanted to know what to look for when I am shopping around......I am buying bikes for my kids to have fun on at Pismo(about 2 hours away) and I just wanted something to ride on to follow them around and occasionally mess with while I am there...kevin

Well, if you just want to ride around without racing or going very fast, the 200S's would be a good choice, as well as the 200M's, or the famous big red's. But, if you would like to try out something faster, you should look at the 200X's, 350X's, or the 250R's. But personally, I would buy a 250SX. They mix utility and sporty trikes, it has some power, and it's reliable and fun to ride. Well, I hope this helped!! :TrikesOwn

well 200s is a auto clutch and is preetty quick and will do about 45 mph.its a nice bike. but a 200x will be better for racing the kids lol.

the 200x is an all around great trike. it has speed (50-60 mph). Great for the woods. It all depends on where ya want to ride. if you ride sand get a 250R, 350x, Tecate, or a Yamaha Tri Z.

Thanks for all the help......I hope these questions aren't foolish...I just never payed attention to 3 or 4 wheelers, until now.....I have always ridden 2 stroke motorcross bikes and like the maintenance of a 2 stroke....I have seen many more 250r's around than 200x's......I will find some bikes and then come back and bug you all again, as to which one to buy....kevin.....

Wild with the "if you ride sand..." More like if you want to go fast, or if you want a real rush...
