Got it on a trade for some tires I had laying around. No money out of pocket. Cant beat that! Especially when you are broke :D Got a set of paddles and aluminum rims with it too.
Everything else is stock I guess.

Its not in the greatest shape, it is descent and gonna need some work and clean up and little things here and there, but at least I have something to work with and it didnt take any $$ from my pocket!

Anyways, I have a few questions. I am gonna order up a manual (anyone got an extra one laying around?), but until I get it maybe you guys can help.

One of the forks has some oily residue on it, I assume the seals are bad? What does that cost to get done, I'd rather just do both of them now while its apart. Is it something I can do myself?

What should the plug gap be set too?

one kind of oil is good to run in the tranny?

How about to mix with the gas? Any pros or cons to synthetic or regular oils?

I assume radiator is best to use soft water and a 50/50 mix antifreeze?

What ratio is normally used? I believe he said 28:1, but I am gonna have to call him and make sure. Has pipe, silencer, bored, etc.

The silencer says ANSWER on it (kinda peeling off), and the pipe has a big badge on it that says CRF. Are those descent pieces?

Also, when I push down on the rear suspension, it comes up and then I can pick it up another 2" or so. Is there an adjustment, or is something worn? The guy that had it was about 230lbs or so....not a small guy by any means.

Any advice, help, etc is greatly appreciated. If you have something else that I should do also, let me know!

forks-depends on your mechanical aptitute, I'm mechanical and I paid someone to do mine.

plugs-believe its .028 to.031, someone check that

engine oil-acutally would be called transmission oil, best to use is actual name brand 2-stroke tranny oil by honda or bel-ray, etc...

gas-oil mix-i use honda synthetic pre-mix. it comes in a blue bottle, just add to 4 gallons of gas and BAM, you're done. the mixture on that is 32 to 1.

radiatior-50/50 mix of green stuff and water, distilled if possible, soft if not. again, i use this stuff honda sells, its already mixed 50/50 when you buy it.

rear shock-its supposed to sag a little bit, don't know the actual recommended sag limit, but 2 inched isn't bad.

other stuff-clean the air filter, if its really bad, replace it. clean the carb, note the jets that are in it. Check the bearings, brakes, cables, all nuts and bolts. Sounds like you're all over it though. Good luck.

Naw, thats just what the honda bottle says on it. The bottle is premeasured so all you have to do add it to 4 gal and thats 32/1. If your bottle says 5 gal, then your're fine. Or if thats the mixture you want to use.....or maybe your bottle is a different size....etc.
