Can someone please answer my dumb thumb throttle question

As ive posted before I am swithing to a thumb throttle from a twist. Are all thumb throttles the same for hondas. I have a new one from a 2001 400ex will this work and is it the same. Also is the cable from the twist throttle the same for the thumb or is it too long or whatever other reason it might not fit. thanks

A lot of thumb throttles are interchangeable. They must physically fit around your front brake assembly ( mostly a problem with Banhsee throttles), they need the same pull length and most are similar, and the end where the cable goes in has to be right. Some are threaded, some are not, and some have different size threads. Twist throttle inner cables are almost always longer than thumb throttle inner cables, so you probably will not be able to use the twist one.

I assume from your login that you're putting this on a 350x. The 400ex thumber you have is the same as the one on a 350x, so get a new cable and your set.
