I've heard from many people that using a CR250 HG on a ATC250R gives it more power..Ive never really seen this or actually tried it..Im wondering if anybody else on this forum has and what are the pros and cons to this..Any info would be great thanks :)
Oh !! I wanted to tell all of you that after tearing my 85 R down to the frame and building it back i somehow lost 2 links to my chain LOL..I know they didn't fall off!! i was really confused when i ran into this problem, and it fit just fine before the tear down haha!! This is my first time doing this to my R so im sure i fuked something up along the way!! LOL :P ...................Pics to come soon..

try rotating your bearing carrier, you may find those 2 links :beer

the CR head gasket is a direct replacement and it works great. You really feel it down low.

it goes right on, and it provides a little more low end, nothing major, and not really worth the cost of the cr headgasket, thats why i just modified the stock 85 gasket.
I run an '89 CR gasket on my trike. It makes a little difference. I thought that $18.00 was not that big of an expence. Just my opinion.

yes, true, 18 dollars is cheap enough for a little more power, but,, why bother going through the dealer and all that crap (just so you know, dealer up here is a major trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro and takes like a month, may be diffrent if you have a nice dealer) i just take the stock 85 gasket, its 3 layers, remove the top and bottom layer, and just run one single layer, same thing! cost= $0

Except for the cost of the 85 250R head gasket.

So,if I put 2 gaskets on a 2-stroke, it would give me more top end? Or does it only work one way?
And is it the top or bottom head gasket that makes the difference? thanx

you can actually do that? you wont burn anything up? And if you do will you need to rejet and add a after market pipe if your still running a stock pipe that is??
