Recently picked up one of these. Can anyone tell me what the switch above thumb throttle is for? It appears that the thumb throttle and this switch are combined in the same housing. Thanks for any info.

It is an 82 110. There is already a engine run/off switch on the left handle bar. This part I am referring to is part of the thumb throttle. The switch and thumb throttle are one part, only that the switch part is on the top portion. It is a switch that turns, and the switch part that you turn is red. It reads off-on-off. The whole assembly is chrome. I don't think this is the engine switch because like I mentioned it already has one.

Somebody has put a different thumb throttle on there. The '82 models have, like you said, an ignition switch and light switches on the left side of the handlebars. I would say that if you trace the wires coming from the thumb throttle swtich, you will find two wires doing nothing. If the throttle works, I wouldn't worry about it.

I echo that last guys statement. Someone has put a different throttle on it. Prob off a older 110. No big deal. Its just a dummy switch. Not hooked to anything.
