I might be getting a 84 tecate. I needs an overhaul on the carb. Are there kits for this and would it be very hard? Also, he said the front brakes were getting week, would new brake pads fix that problem and are they available? Thanks.

I've had luck getting some stuff from the dealer still, Jeb may know where to get aftermarket parts, Good luck with the Tecate its a fast bike, I'm selling mine to get a 350x. But I'm still riding it until it sells. Wife frowns at me when I load it up, oh well it's a fun bike.

Carb rebuilds are pretty easy and you can get front or rear brakes from many places, like dennis kirk. 84 has drum front.

It really depends on what your looking for aftermarket. My advice is that if you can't get it from Kawasaki or other major aftermarket companies, then search on-line and watch ebay. Also, it never hurts to run an add in your local newspaper when your looking for machines or parts. Aside from what people riding quads today think, three wheelers were extremely popular in the 80's. Allot of people owned them. there is still lots of treasure in peoples garages, barn, sheds, etc... It's just a matter of finding them.
