longer lug bolts??? HELP

I am in the process of making hub extenders for my 250ES. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find lug bolts that are 1.5" to 2" longer than stock. I am using super high density abrassion resistant plastic. I cut them into donut shapes and will put the bolt pattern in them (4 holes). Then I'll replace the old lug bolts with the new longer ones, slide over my donuts, and bolt on the wheel. Presto - I just added 3 inches to my wheel spread. (1.5 inches per side).

Any help would be great.

When you are posting a reply, you should offer some advise when asked, not just yes or no, or do or don't.

If the spacer is made correctly, there will not me very much more shear stress applied to the bolts. Additional tensile stress will be added, but lug bolts are hardened and probably have a tensile strength of about 15k lbs.

Just wanna know where to get them........

Hardware store like Ace Hardware is where I get most of my metric fasteners. Another option (Albeit kind of rigging) is to take the old studs out, get some all thread stock (Or threaded rod as other people call it) double nut it and locktite it on one end, slide it through the stud hole in the hub all the way to the end with the nuts on it, figure out how long it needs to be, cut the excess off and then put a nut on the other end to hold the wheel and spacer on. Know what I mean? My friend has this done on his old Suzuki, Doesn't look really pretty but it works.

when i made spacers like what your doing i drilled out the hubs and am using a grade 9,, 7/16 bolts,, i went with larger bolts for strength. use them on the 500 and have never had any problems,,,, if you decied to use threaded rod try to get b-7 or better grade standard rod is pretty soft,,, :D :D :D
