I just rebuilt a 1979 Honda Z50 R Mini Trail that had been sitting for 16 years. All I had to do was bore it for the new piston, lap the valves in and file the points. After that it ran like a top. I also have owned even older trikes and you just don't see any other manufacters older machines running like the hondas.

dude, you better go check your stats again, atleast for the quads...I don't know much about the motorcycle class . :rolleyes: Check all the shootouts in the mags and look at the top 10 winner's list for any atv races. In fact, I was watching a race on t.v. a while ago and there were 8 Yamaha YFZ's, 1 Suzuki, and 1 Honda in the top 10. I think that says something in the "racing" dept. Anyways, I'm not trying to start an argument here. People have different opinions on what is the best, fastest, and so forth..it's just up to you. As a matter of fact I have all four major brands sitting it my garage right now...Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. :D

I didnt start this post to bash any type of ATV or ATC. Everyone is entittled to their opinion. Some people have better luck with one bike over the other. Lets hear what everyone has to say good or bad because chances are everyone here has thier mind made up which manufactorer they prefer and they probably aren't changing thier minds anytime soon. :Bounce

i have a 1982 honda 200 atc and i like it way better the my POS tri-moto 175 i go 4 wheelin with my dad every weekend and in minnesota there is some bottom less swamps and i have kobby tire and it will go anywere and farther the my dads 500 rubicon im a honda fan never going to change the ether so i think u can figer out the i think of honda where i here it

One word "oversold". There are too many Honda's on the face of this planet(or the ones that are so stuck that they don't register as being on the surface). About 99% of the ATV's that my family has bought has be the bloody HONDA!!! Actually every ATV ever bought by anyone I know has been all Honda's Exept for One Yamaha Trike owned by my Dad, One Yamaha owned by me(both sold), and A Tri-Z That I should get *real* soon, oh and one suzuki. Its a good thing Honda doesn't sell snowmobiles!!!(which we have plenty of). So see what I mean by oversold? Yeah there is just too damn many, they are very reliable and easy to fix, and Im not saying there crap but, you get the picture. :TrikesOwn

As for the quads well HONDAs have been built far better than ANY of the competition except for posibly the new YFZ & maybe even the Z400ish platforms. Who cares about the racing aspect of who's on top. Lets look @ bottom line sales over say the last almost 20 years, Honda has killed their competitors & I think this is why:
Compare a 400ex to a brand new Shee & just look @ how much better the welds alone are on the Honda, let alone the shear stoutness of ALL its components IMO.

I am thinking 250r or 350x and durability. The 250r is the thing other minor atvs see when I am dusting them! No BS, I have done and will put it up against any Tri-z or Tecate. It is still running while those are being repaired. The Tecate has many reliability issues and the Tri-z is down on top speed! My buddy has a nice one with the wrench report mods and its not quite near the 250r or tecate.
Honda IS BEST ON EARTH! Yamaha is close, then Kawasaki, last is Susucki. I would burn a Susucki before owning one. The Quads we had from Susucki broke about everyday and were harder to repair than most others. Susucki is CRAP!

2 words BULLIT PROOF, but I like Yamadawgs too,never liked KAWASUCKI or maybe that would be kawasuki because of the drz/ltz 400 kawi conversion swap out take these and put your name on it now you have a competitive 400cc bike/quad compliments of susucki ............. well I must say I want a TECATE 3 though :D

I think mx125dude needs to check his stats again if he thinks that honda makes the fastest dirtbikes.....for one, on top speed the Yamaha yz426f is faster than the crf450r in top speed, but around the track its hard to tell because of riders capabilities.
