Hey, thought this would be an interesting post and a chance for you guys to share your mods.

List the mods you did to your bike to make it suitable for your riding style and the riding conditions you encounter everyday. So if you moto-x how did you set up your bike, if you ride cross country, or if your just a weekend warrior, how have you set up your bike?

I know I may get a lot of "why didn't you mod a bigger bike?" stuff, but here it is. I am setting it up to race in a circle(flattrack)on concrete.

It is a 1986 yamaha 4-zinger.There is a picture of one if you never seen on before.I cut the front sub frame off and welded a 125m neck to the frame. It now has a 125m front end on it.I ground the right steering stop off so I can make my left turns as tight as I want while racing. It is stripped to the bare neccesties,it has holes drilled in the frame for less weight. It has a twist throttle, and scott grips. Moto cross handlebars, and a Nankang front tire on a steel ITP rim. It has cut rear plastic, that will be painted black. It also has burris shifter cart tires on the rear. And a 4" rear wheel spacer.(can either be on the left or right side.It depends on which way the track is going)

The motor mods....

New top end bored 50 over
buyesen power reeds
custom drag pipe with expansion chamber
custom intake to adapt a cr 80 carb.
I hope to get a port and polish and
the head shaved for more compression
flywheel lightened
clamp on Uni airfilter

It also has a kick-starter. (yep, thats right, a kick-starter). I took off the old pull-start assy and put on a kick start that I took off a QT50s moped.(same motor, with kick-start). I had the kicker shaft lengthed to clear the frame.I has various new OEM parts for it.

This bike will be completed sometime after Christmas I guess. I can't wait to go out and kick some 50cc,60cc,and 70cc ass. :D It might even take one of them 80cc four wheelers. Who knows.

I also have a 1980 110. It has a straight pipe, and a clamp-on filter with the air-box removed. It also has a 40 tooth rear sprocket.

Well....my 250SX is, in overall, stock. It has 22'' wooly-booger type tires, they're pretty good for mudding and trail riding, but for sand.... :( Let's just say paddles would be better!! :p And my airbox lid is opened to get more air into my engine...but i just close it when i do a lot of mudding. That's about it, the rest of the trike has nothing special!

I usually try to set my trikes up with 18 inch tires. I also lower the forks in the trees for better sliding and handling. I like lower gearing also. On my T3 I have a 12 tooth front sprocket with a 37 or 38 tooth rear for more power out of the corners etc. I usually have stiffer suspension for the jumps I take also. The air box is usually opened up by taking off the lid or the whole airbox. On the T3 I also put on a reed spacer, and aftermarket reeds. I could prolly list more things but cant think of any as of right now.

My regular 350x is set up for the woods/mud/mx. It has a durablue +2-2 axle, razr's on .190 rims, cobra pipe and a K&N air filter. I am thinking about putting together another 350x with all the parts I have(including a +4 westcoast swinger, and making it a 452x, with the goki starter...but thats just and idea :-)

Mine is an 85 250r setup up just for sand and me. I do like to climb hills but slowly (took me awhile to gain confidence on her), I am not a racer, tho I do play, not a jumper, tho my hubby and others enjoy it. Anyway details.....Engine= stock, Gearing= stock, 4+ over swingarm with 3+ hubs (westcoast hubs). Suspension softer then most, almost too much so, I have found myself bottoming. 20x10x10 8 paddle haulers. I will be getting the suspension more tuned to my liking, then after I actually ride the dang thing more often, may mess with gearing and others things. But at this point I dont see any reason too. I like it the way it is. I will never touch the engine till she absolutly needs me to. My hubby wants to pipe her I told him to buy his own dang 250r.

My 200x has a few mods, but more to come. I mainly ride MX with it, usually always jumping, but somtimes I race. So far, I have a plained head, and high comp piston for more speed, and holes drilled in the airbox lid. I have it geared for mid range, with a 13t front sprocket, and a 37 rear. I have ITP steel rims on the rear, with 22 inch Chen Shins nobbies. For jumping, I usually keep my rear shock all the way tight, and for the forks, I pump in 10 psi, with new bel ray fork oil, 15 weight. In the forks, I also have the spacers I made out of pvc (spacer trick) to give them extra stiffness. I have a DG RCM pipe coming in the mail, if I ever get the thing running again to try it out. I plan on putting 350x shocks in the front and back, because I bottom it on some of the medium sized jumps.

I'm setting up my 85 Tecate to be switchable between woods riding and motocross racing.

For moto-x I'm using stiffer Progressive fork springs and an 03 Yamaha Raptor rear shock. Durablue 2.5 inch wheel spacers and 20 inch Shredders make for better sliding. Stock gearing will work awsome with all the motor mods I have. CT Racing sleeved two cylinders and sent me them with Wiseco pistons included. A DG National expansion chamber and a Type II Oval silencer make the noise. Along with that I have a V-Force reed cage, Moose reed block spacer, a foam UNI filter and open airbox with the carb jetted to match. Besides that the whole bottom end is getting new seals and main bearings. A tether kill switch keeps me safe. The steering stops on the frame have been ground off and the tank moved back 1/2" to alow me more lock to lock movement. The Maier front fender will be race cut and I have a JWR plate to make it truely a race bike :) A Ceet seat cover and blue fork boots finish the look.

For Woods riding I have 22 inch Spidertracs and the front 22 inch AT 489 will remain mounted for both types of riding. For the woods I will be running a K&N filter with water resistant Outerwears and at times a closed airbox. A set of Moose aluminum barkbusters with green roost guards keep the dirt and sticks off my hands. I'm going to have to make my own skids from stainless.

i got a 1985 honda atc 200s with a 1984 honda atc200s engine in it the engine has an aftermarket cam out of dennis kirk, new timing chain out of dennis kirk, different jetting in the carb, upped the timing so it times faster, woolybooger rear tires, new o-ring chain, k&n air filter removed the air box lid, new gaskets, removed the spark arrester out of muffler it ounds awesome, mods to come i n the future- cobra or dg exhaust, 32 mm mikuni carb, +2inch rear wheel spacers, twist throttle, highcompession wiseco piston and rings bore the engine, different teeth sprockets, new rear fenders, scott grips, chrome rims, i love to ride wheelies, and do huge burnouts, and i like to go up the hills, and i like to go fast, and i like to be loud with it, lets just say the dnr and the sherrifs dont like me to much, they cant catch me when i am on that 200sits cracking out about 50hp or more

hotroddal, your 200 with a 200S engine IS NOT putting out 50hp or more and that engine will never put out that much since it only has like 12hp stock, maybe like 20hp when its fully maxed out.

My 84 200X is set up for rideing on trails that are kinda rough and old railroad grades that are straight and fast. I have a fox raceing shock for it but its to big and im gonna see if i cant get my other one recharged and rebuilt first. I have a set of original tires for it witht he rims but im gonna get some smaller ones with lower sidewalls because the originals make it more tippy. Im also ordering a twist throttle and a DG RCM exhaust. I run the forks with about 5 pounds of air so its firm and i dont bottome it out. The motor is stock except for the head being ported and polished alittle bit but when i blows up on me im gonna put a cam get it bored just a little bit raise the compression to like aorund 10to1 not sure about it yet though. And maybe get new crank bearings and a new Vesra rod for it. :beer

Where was it that you came across a Fox shock?

I'd like to have a nice 86 Tri-Z set up for Woods riding with 25inch Holeshot ATR front and 22inch Maxxis All Tracs rear. Maybe a DG system and some new reeds, clamp-on foam filter and lower gearing to give it some bottom end. I think they are the coolest looking bike IMO.

I found the shock in Iola Wisconsin at the big carshow/swapmeet there was a guy there that had a bunch of 3wheelers and parts. If anyof you look at the trx 250Rs on ebay there was one with a blue snowmobile motor well that was there for 4 grand. Anyways i bought a set of rims and grips from him and i noticed he had to shocks sitting there so i bought on and he still has the other ones. I got the shock for 20 bucks and its in like mint condition.Heres his number he has tons of parts and bikes to choose from Dick Siech is his name 920-528-7381 His cell is 414-828-8401 He lives in Waldo Wisconsin
