Hey guys I posted earlier that my x was running a little bit rich so i adjusted the carb a little bit and got it idling well with good throttle response but with a lack in top end, before i could readjust the carb to even it out the motor died on me in the middle of nowhere for no reason at al (that i could tell at the time) so on the way back home (the long long push back home) i realized that maybe i should check the oil and make sure that no water or mud got down in there. There was practically no oil in there but i just replaced the oil not 2 1/2 weeks ago and haven't ridden it that much since then but for today and yesterday. So could somebody please tell me the correct carb settings for the 1985 200x...ex. 2 and 1/2 turns out etc...in that form please.
man this is a dissapointment as soon as i spent all the timt to make this one of the sharpest x's around this happens. thanks

Buy a manual. manuals are cheap and if you don't have one you may be looking for trouble. Is it smoking? because I can't see your trike loosing that much oil while not smoking, or maybe there is a hole in the block? or the trany case? If it is smoking and loosing that much oil, then it is most likely the rings. I took the rings out of my smoking go-cart engine a few days ago, and there was about a 1/4 in gap(duh, when the rings are in the cylinder). For your carb settings you really should get a manual, there like 15 bucks and can be priceless in any situation.

Btw, I usually add to or replace the oil in all my machines every week or so(thats if I they've been used).

see thats the odd thing about it. there is no leak and it does not smoke at all. so i dont know why it would lose that much oil, i mean the thing burns more oil then it does gas.lol but can anyone give me a carb setting real quick, i am gonna go ahead and buy a manual but i dont feel like waiting 2 weeks before i can ride again....thanks

your motor didnt lock up? dude i swear to god ppl wil not check there oil every day before riding. it takes 1 freakin minute and will save you tons of time and money. i personaly check my oil every day before i start riding i dont have the time or money to take a motor a part and repair it. i check the oil the day after i change it always just to make 100% sure. do your self a favor and do it ever time before riding. manuals arent a hole lot i got mine for 10 bucks hehe.

the carb tuning depends on area. if your bike is modified at all you need to acctaly rejet not play with the screws.
