This is on an 86 T-3. I have taken it all apart and replaced the crank seals. Putting it back together. The exhaust advancer assembly: it has 4 ball bearings inside. The manual says that they may become misaligned, i think this has happened. One is pinched between the holder and the gear and the others are rattling around. The book says to disassemble the advancer and put them back in place but, it dosent show the correct position. Can anybody tell me how they need to be placed? I know the whole text of this thread may be hard to follow but, these manuals are hard to follow. Also I have both the master manual and the supplement so I should be able to get it with a little help.

Thanks,
Whiteman

I have had the same problem a few times. If you pull the cup part towards the spring and shake it a bit, it will usually fall rite back in place after a few tries. I think I put the spring end side down on the bench, pushed the cup and just kept trying. If I remember rite the geared end has 4 grooves that the ball bearings ride in. I have the manual if you need more info let me know.

GOOD LUCK
