stupid but what is it

on a 83 250r there are a few maluable metal strips that have black rubber on them..there are a few on the neck and one on the gas tank..do i really need them..i already tore about half of them off of the frame when i was stripping the paint off of it

i beleive you are refering to the wire loom/cable holders.

if that's the case and you have zip ties ,,,, you will be fine ( lol )
