gasket for pull start

my B.R. honda 200es do not come with pull start ,i got one do i need a gasket to put it back on,or use something else .if anybody knows the rite way or easy way let me know

I noticed on my honda 70, that when I installed a new rope the gasket you speak of, I didn't see a purpose for it in my application, it doesn't retain fluid, suppose its there to keep moisture out that side of the engine, but when you realize there is a big hole where the string comes out, doesn't make much sense to me. You can always get some "rtv silicone gasket maker", run a very thing bead around the sting housing, clean up what compresses out and you should be good. Thats just a thought on my part though, good luck
