I just bought an 85 350x.behind the cylinder there is a tube tha t I beleave is the breather(correct me if I'm wrong please). When I start the motor air blows out of it.can some one send a pic of what hooks up to it and where it mounts or what not.I was also wondering where to find a pivot works swing arm kit.
i belive on the breather hole there is just a little tub with a clamp olding it on going to the frame...to keep water out..but dont quote me on that..some 350x guy hear would know better than me.

yeah ,,,, a tube called the crank case breather tube is supposed to be there. kinda the same thing as a p.v.c. valve on autos.
with out it in place it will blow a little oil out and as my trike said ,,, it would be subject to letting water and other stuff into your crank case.
i took a copy of it off bike bandit ,,, items are 24 + 25 + 37 ( plus all the tee and clamps )
there are a couple of tabs on the frame that hold the hoses in place.
i bet i have one laying around if you need it.

You can get a swing arm bearing kit for $40.00 + $3.95 sh from Dads. He is around this site and .org I have got a couple of bearing kits from him, and just ordered the swinger kit tonight.

Wouldn't smoke coming from that tube signify blow-by in the crankcase?
Meaning worn rings or valves?
That's what it means in an automobile engine.

I have an 1986 XT600 that the breather hose goes to the airbox. This recirculates any blow by gasses. You will always have some pressure in the lower end. Air blowing out isn't neccessary bad.

Steve...
I'm sure I got a breather tube around as well. What bearing kit are you looking for? The rear carrier bearings or the swing arm bolt bearings? I replaced my axle bearings with a Works Pivot Kit or something like that. I think it was a 300EX kit, but it worked for the 350X. MR ATC bought it for me and helped me put a completely new axle/sprocket/rotor/hubs/etc on the Showgirl.
I know a guy that has a whole bunch of OEM pivot arm bolts/bearings/seals stored from bikes destroyed in '86. Let me know if you need to contact him. I've gotten a crap load of unused OEM parts from hinm for my 350X and for 'future projects'

Bruce or John,I need the breather tube, all of it is missing.I'm going to need to buy it as a complete unit, clamps and all.I'll buy it from who ever replys first.not going to pick any favorites.
Bruce, as far as bearing kits I need both the swing arm and axle, the axle is not a big deal,I should be able to get them at the local bearing store. The swing arm kit I would like to get all the bearings and seals ect.I'm going to check with dads on that one.
