I got another moped

Well, I picked up another moped a little while back, it is an 1985 Yamaha QT 50. When I got it the guy said that the kickstarter locked up one day when he went to start it so his son tried to fix it but didn't know what was wrong. The next day I took it apart, looked at it, put it back together and that was all it took. After cleaning the carb. this weekend it runs great. Not bad for $70 if you ask me. :Bounce

i want a moped or a scooter. nice find. my friend got a Suzuki 50 scooter for 25 bucks and the only thing wrong with it is a little dirt and a broken spedometer

That could be fun for cruising around town on, where I'm from you can ride anything 50cc/under on streets/bikepaths without any liscences or anything like that.

There are different laws everywhere for mopeds. In New York You have to have a car license if the moped can not go over 30mph, like this one, but I have heard that in Ohio no license is needed for mopeds under 50cc.

I'll pass on that but thanks. I bought the ped just because it was cheap so if I only use it a few times a year then it won't bother me. Most of the street riding I do is on my motorcycle but I have several friends that have mopeds so we go for rides together. I had a Yamaha Riva that I traded at the end of the summer for a atc 70. Come to think of it I still have a 70cc top end with performance reeds and intake for a razz that I was going to put on my last ped., I guess that will be on ebay soon.

around here you need a regular license but no motorcycle endorsment if its 50cc or under.

around here we call em DUI mobiles because you dont need any kind of license to ride them if they are under 50cc

Calgary, here you dont need a liscence for 50cc/under, guys ride minibikes kids dirtbikes and pocket rockets around alot here. Whats even cooler than that is I saw a guy who drove a street legal meyers manx around for a while. Whats even cooler than that was this SICK trike that I saw going around once, the thing looked like a freakin spaceship it was nothing short of awesome.

yea around here its the same thing as pistonhead's got..its awsom..and the cops are stupid..i cant wait to go get the parts for my old suzuki DS 50..cruiz around town on it..stright pipe 2 smoke :D

Totally man, my buddies ride their dirtbikes around a bit. One time the cops came by in a squadcar so my buddy just put his helmet on and the cops waved at him as they drove by!
