View Full Version : Question about Big Reds
I currently own an '84 ATC200ES(Big Red), but I'm looking for a little bit more power in the muddy areas. My question: Does the '85ATC250ES(the next year's big red) yield much more power; is it worth it to buy one? I love my big red and would love to stay with the series instead of opting for a utility four wheeler.

i would haft to say ,,,, yes.
they dropped the 2 speed tranny and went to a straight 5 speed.
the 50cc increase isn't much compared with the fact the 85 is a wee bit bigger trike (wider at the rear end-more stable).
but then again,,, it is not what you ride but how you ride it.
i own a 85 250es,,,, john

250ES's are the way to go. One of my all time favorite rides. Powers there in any condition and they can play with the best of them. Theyll take a 83-85 200X in the right conditions even.
Not to mention the rear suspension (something your 200 obviously doesnt have) and the better front suspension.
I'd Definently look into one.
Good luck,
Rob
