My 85 triz, seems to be starving for fuel Ive raised the needle up, but still has trouble getting fuel. Im wondering if the fuel pumps on tri-z do they need re building ?? Could this be the problem Im having??
Thanks guys..... :)

Make sure the hose from the bottom right of your cylinder to the fuel pump is in good shape. That provides the crankcase pressure that drives the fuel pump. I just replaced mine because it was cracked at the ends, and very brittle. Any leaks could cause low fuel pump displacement.

How have you determined that it is starving for fuel?

Im sure it would be fuel but if you have any other suggestions to why it might be doing it would be much appreciated.... Aussieboy....

ithis bike is stored at moy place as aussieboy is a mate of mine and it is bogging at about three quarter throtle have adjusted the needle and no change also have adjusted the fuel mix to 30:1 and a slight change. When you get to that part of the throttle the bike starts to die and if you hold it there it just will not go at all.
thanks guys

What is the recent history of this bike? Have any changes been made recently? Is this a new problem? What size main jet is in it now?
It is not a fuel pump problem. Fuel pump does not affect how it runs. It either works or it doesnt, and when it stops pumping fuel it will start to rev high right before the motor dies.
First make sure there are no obstructions in the airflow system, intake or exhaust. Then, Id start with a clean plug, and run some plug checks. Since its dies at full throttle, do run just before the bogging point on the throttle, under load in one of the mid to higher gears for 20-30 seconds, pull the clutch, kill it, and let it coast to a stop, and do a plug check.
