Its a trx 300 aka "bigred". Notice that the tank stickers and the mudflaps on the fenders are the same as the 88 250es' ???

atcmatt, you bet i noticed that! that was one of the first things that caught my eye. so what you're telling me is that if i got a trx 300 and put those stickers on it, it would basically be the same thing? nice marketing ploy on honda's part!

I saw that right away too! its the exact same tank sticker and flaps as the 88, but 300cc! Maybe it was a marketing ploy in the 80's trying to get die hard trike guys to buy a new utility by calling it a big red? I bet you its not as good as a real big red though.

probably. i guess honda saw the writing on the wall and new that the day would come when they had to stop producing 3 wheelers. and with the big red being a great-selling model, i guess they figured they could at cash in somewhat on the name and keep it going with 4 wheels.


I bet you its not as good as a real big red though.

hmmm....i don't know. the later big reds were only 250's, and this one is a 300. so it has to have at least a little bit more juice to it. and it was probably an '88 or '89, so i'm sure that in those few more years honda was able to make some more advances in atc/atv production. and also, it's a honda, so it has to be good! i'd give anything to test it out, though. i'd also like to see the brochure for it...just to read a bit about it and see the features and specifications about it.

it says it is only 3 years old but it has to be at least 13 or 14...it i still a nice bike and i havent seen one before....maybe its rare?
