has anyone ever put 85-86 R front end on an 84?

I recently bought an 86 250r complete front end to put on my 84 250r. I got this idea out of an old three wheeling magazine; they ran an article on compatible three wheeler parts. the article said that i only need a longer brake line to do so. well i got the longer brake line and the caliper wont even mount to the forks. is there a way to flip the bracket around on the 84 caliper or do i need to get an 85 or 86 front caliper?

i owned a 84 250r and put the 85 forks on it they worked out good but you do need the caliper and hose also it made a nice difference you'll like the ride much better. later rman
