only bore as little as you can..i would suggest a wiseco high compression piston with a webcamshaft...links are http://www.wiseco.com/PDFcatalogs/ps04-honda.pdf page 10 for the piston and a cam at www.webcamshafts.com i think a 185s cam is the same as the 200s but you would have to check with them..hopes this helps

boring an engine does not help the performance enough the you will notice anything,I put a Wiseco 12:1 high compression piston kit in my 200S engine(bored .002 over) and it made a huge difference,a webcamshaft would make a difference and so would a free flow exhuast system ( www.dgperf.com ) a K&N air filter or UNI,20 inch tires would give you some more low end power and a 200x cylinder...

well i need new rings so i figured a new piston wouldnt hurt it has never been rebuilt at or anything it gose threw lots of spark plugs so i figure it needs rings

could be bad valves, for what it's worth being a 200s i'd rebuild it stock unless your riding on flat ground, power doesn't help with no suspension, unless you plan on swapping the engine into a 200X roller eventually..

peeweesp

i dont think i would swap it dont have the money too do that just trying to get a littile more power for a pretty cheap price.

if your just looking for the exrea boost just go with a nice wiseco 10.25.1 piston..you will be amazed of the diffrence and you dont have to go messing around with bigger carbs...you should more than easily be able to tune the old one up..as for your spark plug problem...search for spark plug readings on the serch button on this form..you will find lots of helpful tips to retune it, and what your spark plug should look like and how to tests it..hope this helps.. :)

MTS
10-11-2004, 09:01 PM
The piston will run you about $101.30 and that comes with wrist pin, circlips, rings the part number is 4156M06550 check out the site www.wiseco.com

what about the 12:1 compression? i would probobly need to run diffrent gas or something right

MTS
10-11-2004, 10:52 PM
if you where to run a 12:1 yes you would have to run 108 octane..i wouldent recomemnd it becuse it will heat up quicker and is more finiky..i would stick with a 10:5:1 or 10:25:1 :)

peeweesp
10-11-2004, 10:59 PM
i wouldnt do 12:1 just cause it would be more expensive for gas and its already expensive lol

MTS
10-11-2004, 11:07 PM
yep..lol my friend has a 200s..its pretty beastie as it is..lots of low end torqe..yours like this..with the big ass spark arrestor? ..where not sure whats its really like becuse there is some rev problems with it..thou where thinkin it might have an old wiseco pistton in it becuse its been rebuilt in the past can tell by the silicon  but the thing has roll on the power bring up the front end power in first 3 gears

peeweesp

well i can bring the fornt wheel off the ground 1-4 but thats not really form power on mine i remove the baffle and spark arrestor but the brace that holds the muffler to the head pipe is broke so its pretty much running strait off the header lol loud very loud so we patched that up a little.

oh and i always wanted to know why if it had that piston why would it need higher octance gas? i have seen this in other fourms didnt know the reason why it would need higher octane gas.

I have a 200S engine in my 200X with a 12:1 wiseco piston kit and it made a huge difference,I am suppose to run 108 octane but i run supreme with ooz(or something like that)booster which makes it 97 octane or a 100 if i mix it at a higher ratio and it runs fine and has for 1 year now....

When my stock exhaust fell off, mine went from 50MPH to 61MPH top end.

I have made a straight pipe now. Thinking of putting a spark arrester back there, or something to block the guys view behind me of the fire from the hole.
I'll bet a piston does almost nothing, unless your rings are BAD.

I like the talk of a cam in this thread. Sounds like my next mod.

Good luck

I'll bet a piston does almost nothing, I piston will make a huge differnce if it is a overbore like a 10.25:1 or a 12:1

"Mymint87" has a Nicholsan 500 turbo. Its an old xr500 motor (I think) with a turbo on it. I bet that thing would hammer!

More top speed = bigger front sprocket, smaller rear sprocket

More low end/acceleration = smaller front sprocket, bigger rear sprocket

so there is a turbo on ebay for 50$ has 17 hours left lol

Recently i hopped on my neighbours stock 200m, im riddin it n im like...common lets go you trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro...got WOT lol, barely going...had to take mine out after that lol..
