I was thinkin, and im takin my motor out of my frame anyways to fix the case so its done right, and i just bought new forks for i so those will be off, hell why not take it all off, and have my friend paint the frame with some real tuff paint and some clear, and i have $1200+ saved up now, and between my b-day in the end of winter, and workin after skool, and on weekends, ill be able to save up enough money to have a good winter project,my friends a great race motor builder for cars and trucks, so ill have him put some sorta powrolll it in it, port it, and then the price for all the little things, like the rocker arms and valve springs, and carb, ill have just enough to finish it up to where can ride it again ounce the warmer weather starts comin back, i can do most all the work except boring it out to resleeveit for the powroll kit,and the port job now i learned how to put the cam, rockers, and valve springs in so i figure itll be a great learnin experience thatll be able to beat some quads in the end :TrikesOwn :)
yall think its a good idea, im gunna end up oin it sometime anyways, so why not now?

I say get the 363 kit on sale at Powroll now then buy the recommended cam. that would wake up your motor big time. As for the frame painting, go for it. A goo restore makes so much sense on 20 year old bikes.

yea i will, i think ill go with the 393 kit, cuz then i can always make it a 432 for cheap, i want to get it powdercoated too, but thats too much money, because i can get it painted for a real little more than the price of materials, ill have to see what happens

should be a wild bike when its done. I agree, the 393 would be the smart move, i was just goin the more cost efficent route. lol I painted my bike for cheap, about 150 Canadian dollars. Great lookin too. If you have enuff to do it i say hold out for the powdercoating, even if you just do the motor work and ugrade your chassis right now, ya know what i mean, break it up and spend money on the bike over a longer period so it gets done right.

Prime it with some good metal etch prime, and you will never have any rust problems. I think its alot safer than powder coat, because once your powder coat chips off, what is underneath it? Bare metal. once it starts rusting, then more powder coat chips off. Plus, you can paint it yourself. But, its your trike, and i know powder coating is the in thing right now. Good luck, sounds like your going to have alot of fun.

nah im not gettin it powdercoated, im havin my friend paint it, was lookin at colors yesterday and i want it to look trick, ifound this real dark shade of mettalic kandy brandywine, it looks black until the sun hits it then it lghts up red, its a cool color, my friend has a lighter shade of it on his panhead(harley) , as the main color on the tanks and fenders and its sik, im guna try and take it little asier on my 350x and not rideit every single day/ight anymore, it tends to break to much stuff, my friends a crazy paint/airbrusher, he said hell put some real tough clear and primer on it and itll be a while bfore itll scratch

Sounds like a great project. Just remember that the 350X motors dont like large bore jobs. I wouldnt recommend going over 390-400cc's. Take 'er easy and break it in real good and you should be alright though. Good luck!

Sure sounds like you have a gameplan and with a nice trike.I have made a bussiness out of restoring honda atc's and let me tell you it is very gratifying to take every bolt and screw off a machine and put it together the way youwant to do it.And always remember ittakes time and patience and don't take shortcuts cuz you'll regret it and take lots of pic's and put it on the restorations so we can all see it and most of all have fun doing it because if you aint having fun it becomes work and who like's to work in there free time.Sandpuppi101 (MUDDOGS RESTORATIONS)
