New problem, They never end.......

200s engine Im running a 200x carb, XR200R top end. I just rebuilt the carb, and the bike turns on very nice 1or 2 pulls, but I cant get it to idle, thats not the big deal whats messed up is that when Im riding and down shift mostly 3rd on down the bike just shuts off. it doesnt bog or sputter it shuts right off. All my wiring apears to be good. What can that be? :confused:

i had a 85 200x that i got for cheap and fixed up the obvious problems it had and it would shut down when ever it decided too.
between howdy sending me eletrical parts that i didn't have and the ones i did have i replaced every eletrical peice on it - bar none. it still would just shut down ,,, just like if you hit the kill switch.
after screwing with it for 6 weeks or better i was done. it only took me 1 night to strip it down to peices and another couple of weeks to ebay basically all of it.
i ain't never gave a 200x a 2nd. glance since then.

WOW, I hope my problem is a bit different. Mine only shuts off when I down shift. But it shuts off just how you described, like if you "hit the kill switch".

Could this happen because thge carb has a problem. I checked all the electrical and it seemed fine?

Have you tested the kill switch? my 200x had a bad one that would vibrate
into the off position while you were riding.

my switcj is tight I just checked it, Its when I down shift to either 3rd, 2nd, or 1st. Not always, but enough to make it a bit dangerous.
