What gearing should i use on my 85z to get alot of low end power? I am running 13/41 right now. I ride alot of trails and small sand pits and i realy don't use my top speed that much so i was wondering what gearing would be good? should i use a 12 on the front? Thanks

For woods riding, hillclimbing, and harescrambling with the 85 tranny I prefer 11/44 with 22" tires, but can manage on 12/44. 12/44 works fine on the 86.

A 12 on the front should work fine and a larger rear sprocket would increase bottom end power.
What size tires are you running?

What size tires are you running?20inch tires with 9inch rims. So i should go with somthing larger than a 44 on the rear since 44 is stock. Maybe a 46 would be good?

46 would give you more bottom end then a 12/44 setup. with 20inch tires i would imagine that setup would be plenty low for what you want

can you say wheely in every gear....lol you are going to be able to sit on the handle bars and still pull it up in avery gear..... mine is goign to be gear a little in the middle because i do do alot of sand pit riding but ialso ride alot of dirt roads and fast paced trails ware ill need some top end....

I doubt you can run a 46 and keep your skidplate on. With 20" tires, Id just drop to a 12 in the front. If its still too high, then up the rear.
