whats the step by step process in polishing part of an atc? such as forks etc...

Start out with rough sandpaper like 220 or 320 depending on how rough the surface is and start wet sanding. Then start working your way up with finer grits untill you have a very smooth surface, usually up to 1500-2000 grit paper. After that use a metal polish like wenol or mothers to polish the metal.

or sandblast and buff out with buffing compound using a drill run buffing wheel.
