I an thinking of using a xr200 trans., head, carb., intake, weisco 10.25:1 piston, performance exhaust (probably DG RCM), axel spacers or extended axel, wescoast swinger, and whatever else I can find.

Here are mine.
The black one is a 83 that I bought from the original owner. He had the local Honda shop put a top end kit, a bigger carb, a POS supertrapp exhaust, and a stiffer spring on it. The white one is a really clean 84 that I got from my younger brother when he needed money.

Its an '84 200x with a Yamaha 360 motor hastily welded in there, not sure if it runs, needs a kick start, ignition coil, custom airbox and it should run. It would haul butt though if it ran :D I'm going to fix it over time, it is my "slow preoject" i guess you could call it

The Supertrap fell apart. The bracket broke off, and I could never get the joint with the head pipe to seal up. I put the Kerker that came with the white one on the black one, and put the stock pipe back on the white one.

I have two mounts left and I probably wont be making anymore. The white one is a modified 350x mount and was the first one that I made (wire welded). It works great. The black one is a prototype of a newer design (tig welded). both mounts are very strong and should work perfectly. I wouldn't call them cosmetically perfect. But there in a spot where you can hardly see them anyway. Like I said I'm probably not going to be making anymore. So If you want one here's a last chance offer. $40.00 ea. shipped.

I hope he can make you one because you just blew your last chance at one. How are you going to steal someone else's design and try to profit from it? That is a load of bull. ok im not trying to steal your idea. didnt u say you wernt going to make any more?("I have two mounts left and I probably wont be making anymore") i was just going ot help the other people out that needed one. and ya sry that i got a wish list, im a 16 year old kid that likes trikes and we just moved so my dad has been bussy. i didnt pick for my dad to do a bunch of the work around our house but what are you going to do and not having a pay pal account really sucks and i dont go my licence yet so i cant just run to the bank and get a money order to pay for my stuff. so the whole coment about the wish list is pretty gay on your part. is this all becuase ive been bugging you about buying a shock mount and then never send a payment? and if trailprotrailpro pissed that i was going to sell them then i wont sell them because i wouldnt want ne one getting upset that i was trying to help out other people that think you have a sweet *** trike and want theres to be like it.

It wasn't the copying that irked me, It was when you said "ill have him make a bunch and ill sell some on here" I don't care about people copying what I've done. Whenever someone asks me how I did this/that I try to be as helpful as possible and give as many details as possible. You should know, you've asked me more questions about it then any one else on the board. Go ahead and make it but don't sell it for profit, that aint cool. As for wanting to help someone else out that may want a mount, I can respect that. I tried to help you out the same way, but instead you stiffed me not once but twice. If I wanted to be an *** I could have posted a comment in the feedback forum for nonpayment, but instead I blew it off. I realize your age and the wish list comment was probably in bad taste but what do you expect.
With that being said, If you still want a mount I'd be willing to help you out one last time.
If you send me a stock mount with payment inclosed I'll hook you up. Whadaya say?
Lets see those 200X's!!!! :p

leprogle has the supertrapp I do. The only things that I dont like about it is that the head pipe will not seal to the cylinder and where the muffler goes on leaks also. I can fix the muffler part but I can not get the head pipe to seal for the life of me. I have used new copper gaskets got new bolts. But oh well. The next time my brother is around I will try to get his digital camera and take some pics of my 200x. Its not in bad shape overall.

Yeah, Both are sold. But If I had some orders for at least three I would make a few more. I'm working on a 4" extended swingarm right now. It's actually made from two separate swingarms.(that way you only have one seam instead of two) I still have to put the skid plate brackets on there gonna be heavy duty so they don't break off like the originals, and I'm also going to install a couple grease zirks. it's gonna be a really nice and strong swingarm when I'm done. And It's probably going to go on Ebay
Here's a couple pics of the progress. The holes drilled on the ends of the tubing are for adding plates to the inside for increased strength at the seam.

well if he does, he needs to release reliablity not saying guys would sew him here but my dad was thinkin of makin extended 250R and 350X swingers but then as he is the Head of R&D for Brinks Security Systems (locks, motion activated lights, etc) the company is gettin sewed for a lock going bad ( wat happened was a guy wanted to get his tree stand for deer huntin farther up the tree so he decided, I will just add more chain, DAH! and when he did he locked it with a privacy lock (like the ones u put on suit cases for travel) it snapped like a twig when his 250 pound self hopoped on the tree stand (to make sure it was safe) and he wants 2 million and u cant use the word "common sense" in court cause it hasnt sceintifically been said everyone has that. GRRR so my dad doesnt want to get sewed from some idiot launching his 250R 40 foot over a double and never checking for stress areas or cracks or anything like that(not saying his work isnt great) so i would tip-toe around that carefully, if u do decide to go intot hat business make sure u send trailprotrailpro product to a lab to get trailprotrailpro welds checked for certification and that way trailprotrailpro product has a certificate for being strong and durable.

Muddy with skills like that couldnt you just take like a 400ex swingarm and weld it the the front half of the 200x one? .. that way you have a "good" bearing carrier, and its easier to keep the chain adjusted... or if that swingarm is umm aluminum, then maybe a 350x or 250r arm? ..

 :) It's funny that you say that, because that's another mod that I plan on doing. "It's true", I even mentioned it in an email to Howdy about a month ago when I was looking to buy a 350x swingarm. :p Well anyway, I bought a 350x swingarm to try it, and it can be done with pretty much the same results as the one I just made. the tubing is the same size and everything. It's definitely on my "to do" list, but the 350x swingarm I bought happens to have a pretty big dent right where the cut needs to be.(Ebay seller left "dented" out of the description) So, that's going to be on hold until I finish my engine project. I might even start a whole new 200x project because I'm happy with the one I have the way it is.

Leprogle, That is the exact same supertrap I have on my 85. It isn't missing a midpipe because that pipe dosent even have a mid pipe. You should take the muffler and rotate it counter clockwise when you are looking at it from behind. The only thing that looks like it is missing is the muffler hanger that goes on the muffler and then another piece mounts to that and then that bolt to that little stud almost directly above the end of your muffler. Twist it around like I said and post a pic of it so I can see if it is on there corectly. It does look just a little short though. But turn it up so I can see what it looks like and then we will know for sure.

well I dont the the CARB is in the way. I think your airfilter is in the way. Take the air filter and the boot off of the carb and then see if the pipe clears. If it does you are, 1: going to have to get the right airbox and ditch that setup or 2: get rid of that pipe. If you still have no luck I should have mine put together in about a week so I will know exactly what kind of clearences and length of pipe we are dealing with here.

I can tell by looking at it that it won't fit, i tried, when i was putting it together and it wouldn't go any other way, I already ditched that filter set up anyway, i got a stock airbox and a uni on it now, i just had to wait for the air box. those pics are old. i'm in the process of finding another pipe, but they're a little too pricy for me right now. i wonder if a stock header would allow me to bolt that on? does the stock muffler have a piece of pipe connecting it to the header, or is there a mid pipe or what?
90nut
01-01-2005, 07:12 PM
All right leprogle I think that I have figured out why that pipe dosen't fit right. You head pipe is straight isn't it. It should come off the engine turn to the side go back along the engine then it goes in towards the engine a couple of inches and then it straightens out and goes straight back to where the muffler bolts on. So I think you need to find a new head pipe.

"Well the swingarm is done and I gotta tell ya it turned out better then expected"
... Paul Junior
Hehe :D
Seriously though, it tuned out sweet. Its a lot nicer then the one that is on my 200x. I'm selling this one and probably a couple others to help finance my engine build. So if your looking for a nice swingarm for your (83-85)200x this is it. Your not going to find a weld shop or a machine shop the will put the time in that it takes to make one this nice. The skidplate mounts are 1/4" flat bar with taped holes. I wish I had done that to the one I'm using. .I left the grease zirks off I figured I would leave that as an option to the buyer. I'm not sure what to ask for it so I'm going to put it on Ebay Sometime soon and see what it goes for. How much do you think it's worth? And BTW that's not hillbilly chrome It's metal flake wheel paint. It's tough paint and looks good too.

I have no idea what to ask for it. ????? :wondering I was kinda hoping for some input from you guys on what I should ask for it.
I've got a good amount time wrapped up into it, and It is as nice as it looks in the pictures. I guess you could say I sweated the details on this one. It would be an awesome addition to any 200x. In fact I'm half tempted to install it on my 200x. If it wasn't winter I would.
Remember... This swingarm wasn't extended in the conventional way. It only has the one seam due to originally being two separate swingarms.

Sorry jakey, But when I put it on Ebay I'm probably going to start the biding at $150.00.
I'm definitly going to make another one like the one I just made, but that one would be for myself. Un decided on weather or not I'm going to make anymore for sale.

I'd say $150.00 would be a fair price for a conventional extention. The stated price only includes the extending of the swingarm. If you need extra work done like... skidplate brackets, or grease zirks, exec. that would be extra. If your skidplate brackets are in good shape I wouldn't charge for there reattachment, only if new ones needed to be made. Anyway, If I do indeed do some swingarms it would only be a few.
Also, the one that I posted the pictures of has had time spent on it to hide the seam. Im not looking to do that again unless it is for myself, because it is too time consuming.
If your interested in having your swingarm extended PM me with what work you would be needing done. And we can figure out a price from there.

Geez DC - that's just fine looking right there. How much width you running out back?!
Thanks :) It's in the "20 day build there...." somewhere, I forget, about 52, 53 or so?? It is very wide.... Just after I added stainless steel front and rear rotors :w00t:
It's actually just a tad too wide for some of these power line crossings. They put rocks I can usually hop over with one wheel, but one in particular (right off a major highway) is a bit narrow. I can't get hung up if the 5-0 are nearby.....
I think I can run another hub (I forget which fits, my bad...) that will shorten it up about 3"s overall if it's a big clearance issue with my trails. But, you can't believe how stable the thing is as it sits  It rails all my berms like crazy :D
I have all the correct decals, I just don't want to put them on until I find someone to paint me a tank and clear over the stickers. This tank is pretty good but I have another that is an excellent candidate for paint. I'll probably grab a new set of fenders too before I decal it up, the old owners of the fender ( the rest of the machine is from 10 or so different machines and EBAY) allowed the exhaust to put in a small melt wound. If your gonna spend 100$ on stickers, they may as well be on really nice parts :beer
EDIT - I've bought a few shrouds from Brad (do a search guys, "86/87 shrouds") but I really like the plain black ones, I think t6hey look super with the headlight guard. That was an expiremental homemade headlight guard, looks and fits great, but I wanna use one of the ones I made with the 3 - thick bars. I think I'll use gloss PC black for a color again though.....
His name is Tritecate200x300x350X....?????? I forget!! You guys need simpler user names!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, his 86/87 shrouds are hands down PERFECT and the fit is alos incredible. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!! and his prices are cheaper than a crappy OEM set gets on EBAY!! I think his thread is in the Mad scientists and or new products forum. Excellent product I assure you!!

The durablue axle isn't adjustable huh? Too bad.
I have a LSR -1 to +4 for the *coff*TRX*coff* - just swap out a couple collars to adjust the overall length.
That said, I can only imagine how nice that 200x rails turns and whatnot. Handling wise, for me it's a toos up over what helped the most on my 82' R - the 200x front or the 200x rear axle and 300x hubs (really widened the rear over stock)
Anyways - looks hella good. Those rear fenders are pretty useless for keeping mud/dirt off you now. :D

Not THAT adjustable, but it has collars I can add or subtract a total amount of 1 -1/2"......
I checked my 20 day build thread here: http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=84010 , and I just noticed that a member gave me a -1 or thumbs down on the 1st post
I guess my internet Steve makes me a penis sometimes...... Thanks to whomever gave me a thumbs down, I wish that thread were more useful to you :D I was hoping that the thread (although a very quick build) would provide some useful information to any of the 2nd generation 200X lovers, especially in showing the 87 motor differences :D
Anyhow, I was off quite a bit on the actual width! I guess it's only - I quote here from that thread "Goat - It's 50" wide overall and with other hubs and spacers I can drop that down to about 47" or go wider with extended hubs."
Saul, can you tell me what a stock 83/84R axle is end to end?? Then I can actually figure out what this is - +4, +6, +8, etc etc. I honestly don't know...........
It is a very wide 83/84 250R axle (thats the only way I could get the Stainless rotors, NA for the 86/87 axle) It way be a plus 6, I'm honestly not sure but I was fortunate to get it and for a good price from a member here :beer :w00t:
I also just got in the correct custom seals last week for anyone that wants to run an 83/84 250R axle in an 86/87 200X carrier. You cannot buy them at Honda, they are a custom made seal. I guess until now guys were just running the 200X seals and letting dirt in there?? or building it up with electrical tape (like I did in a pinch - DC hangs his head low :( ) or a custom collar could be pressed on the R axle to make up the 2MM difference. I reallly DK what guys were doing before?? But I since I had the chance, I needed 2 but I had 8 seals made up in total............ The more I bought the cheaper they got :D

Here's how mine looked after she was restored over last winter. Everything was mint on the old girl.
Winter is now here and she's in a million pieces for a rebuild and the updates I couldn't get to earlier.
Engine: Powroll stroker crank and piston to go along with the goodies I already have in it.
Frame: Swinger and front skid plate will be sand blasted, ceramic coated and polished. I will get my Repro low pro fenders from Syko painted up this winter. I'm contemplating having the frame powder coated too. We will see where it goes. Oh yeah and a set of 20 inch tires, the 18's are too low for Wisconsin trails... Rocks.

I have a Bassani as well on my 85. My jetting was like this: Pilot stayed the same. Main up to 115. Needle 1 from bottom. Might give you a start. That was with my stock carb. Got a 130 main in my 28mm carb now.

First one has the 350X front end and 350X shock, with one of the Muddy200X gizmos
Middle one is one I picked up and rebuilt the motor, it's my sleeper
End one is actually an 85 with a mix of stuff I had accumulated
