I bought a used motor ,the top end and piston was replaced.I put the motor in and it don't start,i took it out(the motor)i took the valve cover off and everything looks good, then i took the top of the motor off (where the valves are)and the valves look new and the piston looks new ,clean and no carbon ,it looks like the guy just redid it.With the top of the motor off you see the piston, now when i aline the "T" mark in the timing hole the piston is going down about a inch.Shouldn't it be at TDC.Mine goes down about a inch when the mark lines up .Could this be why it don't start, and how do i fix it(aline the piston at TDC)P.S. i have both manuals they are very vague on that need help ,thanks ............svo58

If the piston is 1" down in the cylinder when the marks line up you have to have a sheared flywheel key. The flywheel bolts onto the crank so the key is the only variable.

thanks 200xman i will take it apart and check the keyway ,there is only one way the flywheel can go on with the keyway rite, more or less it's idoit proof. Thanks for the help

yes it only goes on one way. during my 200x rebuild i found mine was sheared and ordered a new one for like a dollar from servicehonda.com. if yours is sheared, there's a chance that the flywheel moved off mark a bit, and then got stuck on what's left of the keyway explaining why it's off 1". hope that makes sense.

It is a puller that looks like a bolt.
If you lucky, your front axle will screw in. They are some type of metric threads.
