I am redoing my '83 Honda 110 and when I put the front axle and wheel on the forks, it is not evenly spaced out on each side of the tire.
I took apart 3-4 times to try to make even. But I am definetly doing something wrong. Any thoughts?
My front tire isn't centered either on my 250sx. I don't know why , but I noticed it after I put the recommended Douglas wheel on it. Bob

Did you mount the rim on the correct side of the hub?

Here are some photos - any thoughts as what I am doing wrong. You can see how off center the tire is.

Im not positive, but you may have the hub mounted on the wrong side of the rim. Looking at it from the front. The hub looks like its mounted on the right. Maybe it mounts on the left side. Try taking the wheel back off and pulling the hub off, and swithch sides with it.

From looking at some of the readers rides pics, it looks like you have the hub bolted down on the wrong side of the wheel. Switch it and let us know. :beer

I didn't take the hub completly out when I removed it, all I did was unbolt the entire assembly from the front forks and then remounted them a few days later.

Ok. Well 2 questions. DId you try flipping it around the opposite way and mouning it? Was it fine before you took it off?

Yep, I tried just switching sides and all it does it put a gap to the other side. I never noticed the tire to be off center before I removed it.

try unbolting the rim from hub and putting the hub on the other side of the rim. maybe the rim is slightly offset from the factory and whoever you got the trike from put it back together wrong but you never noticed because this is the first time you messed with the front tire.

Thats got to be the problem. The offset on the rim and the side the hub is mounted on. You might not have noticed it before, but I bet thats how it was.

i just thought of something else. i dont know if you have a split rim on that or a solid rim. but if you have a two-piece split rim there is supposed to be a metal ring that you line up with the bolt holes in the rim before you put the hub on the rim. if that metal ring is missing or on the wrong side of the rim that could be your problem. i think the metal rings are about 1/8" thick to add some strength to the bolt hole area of the rim. some people just do away with them for some reason.
