Ok well I received my um wheel spacers last thursday. I ordered them from rocky mountain atv and ordered them for a 250r to put on my big red. the ones I rdered are exactly like the durablue spacers just cheaper and I purchased the EZ fit spacers with the add on stud extender.

I have positive and negative feedback.

first the bad, the add on stud extenders ****, I ended up using the stud extenders on the side with the drum brake and on the other side had nothing but problem. I had one extender sheer willl I was torquing it down, another one that distorted. I ended up just banging out the studs and using grade 5 7/16 bolts on this side with matching flanged nuts. a little machining and banging and it fit together nicely.

the good, it makes my red look much meaner the 2.5 inch wider a side track puts the tires outside the wheel wells and gives the trike a much better look from the front, I need to borrow my buddys digital and take some pics of of it. from the back it looks abit goofy because it exposes all of the drum brake to ones eyes. looks not being the only thing it did wonders for the handling even with 25-12-9 inch chen sheing ballon knobbies I can slide it out, the trike feels much more stable. I did not ride it all saturday my buddy did at his own risk, and if they were going to brake they probable would have with him driving he put the red about 3-4 feet in the air acouple times. He also held nothing back sliding it, on a gravel fire road he was taking corners without slowing down, he could easily keep up with my scrambler in the corners.

it will stilll have a tendency to lift a rear tire with my 150 pound weight every now and then, but I could never get it to slide before, and now I can. This is one of the best mods I have ever done. It was nothing but frustration with the stud extenders so I say order the cheaper set and bang out the studs and reinstall new ones. I wish I would have its honestly easier and less time consuming then the stud extenders. the handling is something I could put up with the frustration for again.

any questions ask.

$59.95 not a bad price, the non stud extender models are cheaper still.

I've got the 'RAD brand' 2", per side, spacers on my R & love em. They bolt up to the stock studs then have new offset studs for the rims. I thought they might be kinda heavy, weigh'n in @ over 1lb a peice but I've never noticed the added weight vs the much greater stability... as stated above. :beer

Hey where can I see a picture of the RAD extenders? I've got a pair of RK extenders on my Tri-Z. They bolt to the stock studs and then the rim bolts to the outside of the extender. They are cast aluminum. My RK extenders are from the 80's. I've got some of the other kind for my KXT that you have to remove the stock studs and run long bolts through them. I've got a set of aluminum and a set of dense plastic ones. They **** compared to the RKs on the Z.

I've got a set of Durablue EZ-fit spacers for my Tecate. I'm skeptical about the strength but time will tell. MAkes the rear pretty damn wide at 2.5inches per side.

AZ250R are those the ones that are bassically wheel adapters? meaning the bult up tot he factory studs and have new studs mounted two them? like an off road wheel adapter for a truck?

smokinp I am sure the um's will work if you look at there site there simply donuts that mount inbetween the wheel and the hub. on dura blues website, they list the same part number for alot of models.

if you get the type that need longer studs, just make sure you have enough clearance inbeteen the back of the hub and the ring gear.

Man I normally dont like wheel spacers, but AZ250R, those things are cool as hell. Very nice. They look like they would be pretty strong too.

Believe me, I thought ALL wheel spacers are just bandaids to a superior lengthened aftermarket axle. I should have bought the X-33, or whatever it is, longest one from Durablue... but I didn't... got the stock length to save $$. (live N Learn ;) ) Anyway, these things aren't too heavy & I've all but droped off a cliff with them on & only notice the "increased stability"!!! No drawbacks for me yet. I've also bought the axle lock nut from that company (RAD) & its working like a champ so far too. Hard to deny superior manufactured products & RAD Mfg. is OK in my book.
