Does anyone think this will interchange?

I have a 1986 200x thats getting a ground up resto and makeover and I have run into a problem. The rear axle hub has been welded to the axle at some point in its life and a new axle is no longer availible. Its not bent or anything but when trying to build a trike of near perfect stature, this just wont do. I have been looking the housing over really closley and it looks similar to a 300EX quad. I was wondering if anyone thought that maybe the axle would interchange and what the difference would be? If that wouldnt work then does anyone know if there is anything that will interchange?. thanks

not sure on that man....but what you should do is get the measurements off of it....and well....hit up honda....you might have figured something out....

Well I have a friend that has a 250x and I just got off the phone with him, Im going to get that rear axle out of mine and either this weekend or next I am going to get his 250x and pull the axle and carrier out to see what can be done about this problem. I'll let everyone know the results when I find out.

i dont know if this will help you, but i just looked up axle hubs in the dennis kirk catalog and 83-85 200x, 83-84 250r/trx250x/trx300ex fourtrax-sportrax 87-04 all use the same rear hubs according to the part#'s. plus i myself often switch hubs back and forth from my 83 200x to my 03 400ex and it works perfect. i know you said you had an 86 200x, but i bet it would work.

i know a 1984 250r axle will work because i had a +5 axle sitting here and tryed it and it fits.but your probly going for stock.just a suggestion if you cant find a good stock axle.

so, a 84 250r axle will fit in a 86 200x. Do the chian and such line up, since the chain is opposite on it? I don't see how it could, but if it does.... I'm ordering a extended 84 250r axle and parts to make it work.

it should fit i just turned it over and put it in the other way and the chain lined up when i did it.i did have to drill the holes in the sprocket a little bigger so the bolts would fit right but it only took 10 minutes.i have it apart right now again here is a picture of it not put all together.

How about the brake rotor hub? do you know how well it will work? that really burns me because I just sold my scraped out 84 250r with a good axle and my 86 250r with a durablue axle that was also scraped out.

anybody know where I can get a extended 84 250r axle? and do the 86 200x hubs fit?

I could order you a new durablue eleminator 2+2 for 330 + ship but I dont know if the 200x hubs will fit

I'm pretty sure that the axle carriers and bearings are the same for 250x,300ex,400ex,250r,and maybe the 200x.you should be able to use anyone of the carriers,but the 250r axle will need 250r hubs.I would hit ebay for a nice 400ex axle and carrier and even the hubs.that would make the 200x a little wider in the back with out the high price of an aftermarket axle.

well ive hub testing the hubs 200x hubs will fit look at the picture those are 200x hubs on a 250r axle.and /atc90/185s /200s/125/110/ hubs will fit i can take more pictures if you dont believe me.and probly more thats just what i have tryed.

I'm talking about 85 and up 250r's.they are 25 spline as well as the 350x.most of the others are 24 spline.

Brandofiero, What Brake hub you useing? Have you test fitted that yet?

i had it on but my master cylinder needs rebuilt so i cant see if it works.you will need the front brake rotor from a 250r or you can use the front rotor from a 200x on the back because the 250r has the 3 lug rotor holder.
