On my big red i have Carlise knobbies. They dont work too good in mud and snow. I want to get a good mud and snow tire but that will still be good for trail riding. Im looking at ITP mud lite and GBC Gators. Would Gators be too agressive for trail riding? Are there any other tires i should consider?

this is what you want to look for in a tire that "can do it all"...look for mid grips.....not humungus.....but not wimpy....this will help with the mud and snow....and kinda keep it calmer on the trail as well.....also....for the trail riding thing....look for a tread that is consistant from middle of the tire to the outside....this gives you a more even roundness....that way....when it isnt muddy or snowwy....the tread wont dig in badly....and the evenness of the tread will roll smoothly

gators would work good for the mud and super swampers would too but they are both pretty aggressive. if you want a better all around tire the mud lites would ride smoother and be kinder to the environment. maybe a ITP blackwater? Do they even still make those?

black waters were discontinued.
take a look at the mud sharks, they have a very square profile which should be best for handling on a trike. trail riders seem to love em, there like a cheaper black water.
The square shape of the tire should reduce the tippy feeling a red has.
